12:00,

You are out your mind if you think LVN is NOT #1.

hehehehe. funny stuff.

Anonymous said...

I think they deserve the #1 seed.

Anonymous said...

If they had used QRF:

LVN
Woodbury
Eastview
Burnsville
Wayzata
Centennial
Blaine
Anoka

I would be all for using this once the sections are set. Takes into account strength of schedule and head to head and keeps coaches out of it.

Anonymous said...

Congrats to JR for A Ms. Soccer. Such a great role model and outstanding work ethic. Well deserved!!! We are proud of you!

Anonymous said...

football is done wihout coaches input, soccer should move to that. the qrf needs to be tweeked a bit but it is a better way then the current system

Anonymous said...

It is what it is! Stop moaning about the seedings and let's just wish everyone good luck!

Anonymous said...

What awards are given at the state banquet?

Anonymous said...

heard ms soccer is a bball player. way to go coaches!

Anonymous said...

I don't think there is any rule that says Ms Soccer cannot be a multi-sport athlete. I'm sure the majority of All-State players play other sports too.

Anonymous said...

As long as Ms Soccer plays soccer, who cares if she plays b-ball, hockey or debate!

Anonymous said...

Who is Ms Soccer 2011?

Anonymous said...

Alexis Foley, WBL.

I think you would be hard pressed to find a recent ms soccer who was not going to play soccer in college. SSC blew it by not nominating BS who will be ppress player of the year. She is going to Madison and will have a huge college career

Anonymous said...

Smells like sour grapes!

Anonymous said...

EK (going to play for the U next year) from Northfield did not even get honorable mention? Curious. Pretty sure she was the only reason they got to the section final.

Anonymous said...

sorry Ellie D. not Ek....the fast Northfield striker.

The above post was for Mr. and Ms. Soccer 2011.

Anonymous said...

ellie from nfld not even honorable mention? that is a crime!

Anonymous said...

AA Ms MN was a joke - either most of the really good players weren't nominated or the selection process is flawed. Ask the players who Ms MN Soccer is and I don't think Foley makes the list of 9 out of 10 girls asked.

Anonymous said...

I was very surprised about the AA pick too!

Anonymous said...

WBL coach is chair of the group of coaches making the selection, look it up! The good old boys club is alive an well in MN, the list for all state is missing top players from several schools, very bad job coaches, next year try to cover up you scheme a little better. The newspaper will probably have a more representative list, when they report a less biased selection (we hope).

Anonymous said...

cry babies

Anonymous said...

I have no dog in the hunt. There have been so many girls on the field thae Foley isn't even in their category. That is an assessment from watching a lot of soccer. Also, as I posted earlier - if you want a fair assessment as the girls playing soccer to list girls on other teams (not their own) that should be Ms. MN Soccer and I have yet to hear Foley's name. Nice to have your coach give you a state wide award - explains a lot.

Anonymous said...

"ask the girls" - not "as the girls"

Anonymous said...

The nominating process is flawed and the coaches are a joke. The all state/hon mention teams have 8 players from the SSC conf total. How can that be? They have 3 teams in state and routinely had 4 or 5 teams in the top ten.

Anonymous said...

It seemed like the speech given by the Coach for the Ms. Soccer award really focused on her academics, leadership, community involvement, etc. What factors into the award? Is it your performance on the pitch, or larger picture (similar to the Gatorade Player of the Year). On the boys side, the speech was very much focused on soccer skills and development, as well as leadership.

Anonymous said...

AA Boys Director 1 Tom Olson Elk River
AA Boys Director 2 Jason Arnebeck Park
A Boys Director 1 George Stuempfig Breck
A Boys Director 2 Len Woelfel Mankato West
AA Girls Director 1 Jim Pelletier White Bear Lake

Anonymous said...

I would certianly hope that the head of the nominating committee can justify giving the award to his own player - he might be biased but I don't think he lacks intelligence.

Anonymous said...

Here's the math:

Section 1: 2 AS / 3 HM = 5
Section 2: 4 AS / 2 HM = 6
Section 3: 1 AS / 4 HM = 5
Section 4: 7 AS / 3 HM = 10
Section 5: 3 AS / 4 HM = 7
Section 6: 4 AS / 5 HM = 9
Section 7: 2 AS / 2 HM = 4
Section 8: 1 AS / 1 HM = 2

Anonymous said...

Another reminder that high school soccer is very watered down. The kids have a lot of fun playing for their high school team and it is about them. But all and all the quality of high school soccer is laughable!

Anonymous said...

Your mama wears army boots to bed 10:09 AM.

Anonymous said...

10:09 - I watched plenty of high caliber soccer this fall. You are wrong about the quality of HS soccer.

Anonymous said...

10:08, here are some more numbers for comparison: # of top 20 teams (QRF)

Sec 1 - 4
Sec 2 - 3
Sec 3 - 4
Sec 4 - 4
Sec 5 - 3
Sec 6 - 2
Sec 7 - 0
Sec 8 - 1

Looks like sec 1, 2 and 3 got the shaft. Sec 4 and 6 with 10 and 9???

Anonymous said...

I agree with 10:09am. My child had a great time playing HS soccer (Edina), but she's looking forward to getting back to club. Obviously 10:21am and 10:26am play on less than competitive club team.

Anonymous said...

What's that you say, your HS team wasn't competitive and you did not get to see much good soccer this fall?

Anonymous said...

It was a real joy watching my daughter play with her HS classmates this fall. It was also painful watching poor HS coaching of talented teams (ssc). Quality club players made the coaches look good at best!

Anonymous said...

All State candidates are initially submitted via their conference, not their section. If you have a stronger conference, fewer players from any one school in that conference will make All State. A weaker conference still gets the same number of candidates, 12 I think. Anyway, the process is complicated.

Anonymous said...

11:05 - The SSC has good coaches across the board. What rationale/criteria are you using to "evaluate" these coaches?

Anonymous said...

11:05,

Which coaches are you calling out? Please explain.

Anonymous said...

Obviously, 10:43 AM is a dolt. Your child is now looking forward to getting back to her club because her HS team was not good enough to make it to state.

Anonymous said...

agreed ssc has some of theb est coaches in the state, please tell us of who you speak?

u pick em said...

blah, blah, blah

high school soccer sucks, class A is a joke, my kid is the best, her coach stinks, they get to play with their friends, my club is the best, state cup doesn't plan around prom, your club is the worst, we can't compete regionally, those parents are the problem....did I miss anything?

Mindless speculation? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bold?

LVN vs Anoka
Wayzata vs Blaine
Centennial vs Eastview
Burnsville vs Woodbury

Anonymous said...

I popped in on this thread, but usually follow the club stuff. Looks like little has changed......DREV and Burnsville parents (Lakeville North, Eastview, BHS, etc...) now commenting on their DD's HS teams as compared to club teams. Something to be said for being proud and consistent.

Anonymous said...

12:51 and 1:04 PM Bye-Bye!

Anonymous said...

LVN will win easily (4-1), Wayzata will win 3-0, Eastview will win 2-0 and Woodbury will win (2-1).

The only good competitive game IMO is Woodbury v Burnsville. Burnsville probably has more talent but Woodbury has experience (they have been here before) and better coaching. It could come down to adjustments in this game and I would go with Woodbury.

Then I think LVN over Wayzata and Eastview over Woodbury. I think Eastview will win the final (even though I am definitely not a DREV homer)

Anonymous said...

LVN 4-0
Way 3-2
BV 3-1
EV 3-0

Anonymous said...

11:05 here

Obviously, my statement was not to damn all scc coaching...I forgot that one needs to explain everything on this blog. Clearly, there are a few ssc coaches that are of quality (teachers/students of the game). However, there are also a few coaches that are just motivational speakers. Parents from around the ssc have discussed the lack of their coaches actively getting invoved in the practices (doing/showing)....

Anonymous said...

2:10, the only adjustment the wood coach will need to make is who on the team can shut down the blaze top scorer. if she gets going, burnsville will win. wood is probably more balanced, so by neutralizing her evens the playing field. look for blaine to put up a fight...i predict ot in that one.

Anonymous said...

2:36 PM - Don't blame this blog for your inability to clearly communicate your point anonymously.

Anonymous said...

Love this one...
" Parents from around the ssc have discussed the lack of their coaches actively getting invoved in the practices (doing/showing)...."

As a parent from the ssc, don't make a blanket statement like this and include others.

You sound like the one with the problem, maybe address it with your coach rather than make up stuff and post it here.

Anonymous said...

Not blaming the blog, just non-thinkers like you 2:36.

Anonymous said...

11:05 here

Wow, not a "blanket statement", and just wrote of conversations amongst parents discussing coaching...it's nice to know that those who have responded to my comments assume that I have not addressed my concerns with our coach, I have....take it personnally if you wish....As was stated; "My daughter has had a very positive HS soccer expeirence, and as I said it was a joy to watch.

Anonymous said...

the ssc is the best and the coacheing is also the best. That is why 3 teems are still in and going to state.

Anonymous said...

341 You are the best at spelling ever..oops evre??

Anonymous said...

Who are the top coaches in the SSC? Which schools?

Anonymous said...

Last I checked, Northwest Suburban
Conference also had three teams left and going to State...does that mean they are better than any other conference? I don't think so, but they did prevail in their sections.

Anonymous said...

NW sub a joke, put the ssc teams in all sections and you get 6 teams.

Anonymous said...

The All State selections and state seedng impunes the coach's objectivity. Predict seedings will move to QRF.

It time for these girls to get some female role models. I would say there will be a big push to get some women into the high school coaching ranks. More than half of the women's college teams are coached by women in this state. And women don't succumb to back room politics so easily.

Anonymous said...

All state players: Wayzata (3), Centennial (3), LVN/Woodbury/Eastview (2), Burns/Anoka (1), Blaine (0). Wayzata and Centennial have some nice players (they each have 1 clear cut all state) but I highly doubt they deserved 3 each. We shall see!

Anonymous said...

SSC a joke!

Anonymous said...

Why does the Star Tribune Metro first team have 7 forwards, 2 midfielders, 1 defender, 1 goalie? Wow - not sure how successful a team would be with only 1 defender! Too much emphasis on number of goals scored without putting it into context.

Anonymous said...

Plus they name players as forwards who actually played in the midfield. I really wish they would do their homework on this. Anyone with soccer knowledge could put together a more balanced team than the Star Tribune.

Anonymous said...

You hear on numerous occasions from non-soccer lovers "soccer would be more fun to watch if there was more scoring!" I still find it exciting to watch. But, one of the reason there's not higher scores - DEFENDERS & GOALIES!

Anonymous said...

I'll take the second team over the first.

Anonymous said...

You can't just honor the kids that score goals!

Anonymous said...

Wow no offense to the players on the Star Tribune teams but what moron made those selections? There are some solid players on there but that is the best they could come up with?

Anonymous said...

10;09...why so bitter...did they not pick your DD?

Anonymous said...

here is yuour semi's

lvn v wayzata

bvlle v eastview

ssc shows its dominance again

lvn v ? in final

Anonymous said...

I am sure that the StarTribune writers have never seen most of these players play. If they had, the list would be much different. Congrats to SK but they should have named a senior as All-Metro player. The players that score the most are not always the best players on the field. There are players out there that make the plays happen, win balls in the air and make great tackles that get the balls to the forwards so they can score.

Anonymous said...

12:27,

21 goals and 26 assists. I believe that makes her a playmaker as well. Nuff Said.

Anonymous said...

My kid's team had two all-metro players and the Strib write-ups were basically the coach's lofty-flowery words.

Anonymous said...

Seriously 1:23 you are actually complaining about a bad write up when many girls got skipped over and your team (Centennial, Stillwater or Woodbury) got two?

Anonymous said...

i agree that they should choose a senior SK time will come, she is great player but these awards usually go to seniors

Anonymous said...

Who cares what grade she is in. If she is the best player than she deserves the award.

Anonymous said...

There is no denying she's a solid player but the award seems aimed at a well rounded athlete. I have seen her play over the years and even a few times in conference play this year. She is solid player but there are at least a half dozen players that I felt performed better (IMO of course). That said, the number one scorer on the number one team is hard to resist as player of the year. Let's see how she performs on the big stage now

tomASS said...

Parents......boohoohoo, get over it

tomASS said...

PS - JR's mom, well done, nicely stated.

Anonymous said...

9:41,
She's already performed on a big stage against the top players in the country in the ECNL. Experience like that has made her even more dominant in the HS game.

Anonymous said...

1:23 here, not complaining about kids getting skipped over. Complaining that the Strib doesn't do any work but rather relies on influential coaches to assemble its teams.

Anonymous said...

Ah yes 9:23 am, "there she was a lonely drifter, destined for a life of ill-repute. when suddenly, donning the Blue and White came a man blazoned with MTA to rescue her. She grew under their wings, developed in ECNL and grew into the "even more dominant HS player" that she could only be through ECNL."

Anonymous said...

9:52

Thanks, you made my morning. That was rich (but sad that it is so close to the truth in many (weak) minds).

Anonymous said...

Can we drop the pettiness over a newspaper article, and get back to how great the SSC conference is and how they will roll over everyone tonight?

Anonymous said...

10:23am Who cares only about SSC! Let's talk all AA and A soccer for tonight.
Cold night tonight! Good luck to all the teams! And remember that anyone can win on "ANY GIVEN SUNDAY"

Anonymous said...

It's not Sunday.

Anonymous said...

9:41, high school ball ain't "the big stage," not even the games at the Dome.

Anonymous said...

Well HS ball is for a great many of these girls but maybe not your all world ECNL daughter. Regardless, tonights 2 AA games should be clear cut for LVN and Wayzata. Both just have too much depth, star power (including the best ECNL forward in the whole wide world) and have played tougher schedules (here and on the intergalactic stage through ECNL). Friday night should be more compelling. That said, would love to see an upset!

Anonymous said...

Blaine just might provide that upset your looking for?

Anonymous said...

I hope that someone provides good first hand accounts of the games tonight for the blog for those who can't be there. Hopefully they leave off any 'insulting' comments about individual players (wishful thinking). I am sure we will get the proverbial (HS soccer sucks and it was just boot ball) so let's just get that over with now.

Anonymous said...

HS Soccer does suck and I play tonight in the first round! Not the high school part and not playing with my friends, that's fun. It's the actual game of soccer in HS that sucks!

Anonymous said...

The real soccer starts tomorrow night, folks.

Anonymous said...

Lvn forward not even most dangerous target in conference. Bvlle target much exciting and dangerous

Anonymous said...

Lvn forward not even most dangerous target in conference. Bvlle target much exciting and dangerous

Anonymous said...

LVN player is mature and plays with confidence. She faces adversity very well. Younger players struggle when they are closely marked with strong defenders. Mature players find a way to adjust and overcome (for example, getting assists, as demonstrated by SK). No use in comparing the two, just countering the post above.

Anonymous said...

LN already up 3 to 0, not even half time!

Anonymous said...

I have seen a Wayzata player that plays with more poise and field sense than most. She can also play any position on the field.

Anonymous said...

Thats great. Any scores from the 5:30 game?

Anonymous said...

That was the 5:30 game.

Anonymous said...

LVN 3-0

Anonymous said...

Wayzata up 1 to 0 at half. Can watch it live at www.prep45.com.

Anonymous said...

Two to one, Wayzata. Soft goal by Blaine through GK's hands/legs.

Anonymous said...

Looks like the LVN Star Trib Metro Player of the year did quite well on "the big stage" with a goal of her own and the assists on the other two.

Anonymous said...

I agree she's an excellent player, but I wouldn't call HS state play offs the "big stage."

Anonymous said...

There are many deserving players. SK is a very good player. She deserved the award as did probably 10 other players. Let's leave it at that.

Anonymous said...

She should have no problem with Wayzata this next week in the semis – heard from a Wayzata parent this morning that their two stud defenders are out with a separated shoulder and broken ribs from cheap hits suffered in last night’s game.

Anonymous said...

We all know who 7:47 is. Parent of an ENCL/MTA kid who plays for a crappy high school. Frustrated the kid couldn't carry the team to state. Therefore needs to invade this blog to remind everyone that high school ball stinks. Go away please.

Anonymous said...

Lets hope WAY can come in full strength for the game next week...would like to see a good game.

Any predictions for Friday? Burn could have been a 3 or 4 seed, this one is going to be a good one. Wood might have slight advantage based on experience?

Second game could be a toss up as well. CEN has the better record and two very good players (one up top the other a def, according to the coach in the star trib). EV has a pretty balanced team with some very strong sr players.

Predictions?

Anonymous said...

8:52 - they'll play, both very tough kids, minor flesh wounds to them. Maybe too strong to call them "cheap hits", but the official definitely let things go too far before stepping in.

Anonymous said...

We all know who 9:33am is. Parent of player that doesn't make a top club team in the state of Minnesota and than proceeds to go on and on about how great their C2 player is!

I'm taking Wayzata to win!

Anonymous said...

Defenders in or out for Wayzata won't/wouldn't change the outcome-EV wins either way.

Anonymous said...

Saw WYZ game. Can't beat LVN when their coach plays their best player at defensive mid instead of attacker. She passes the ball to the forwards all game and they don't have the speed or skill to do anything with it. Both her and the center defender were taken down several times and one may have broken rib and other a seperated shoulder. I hope they recover because it could be a good game if the best players are healthy.

Anonymous said...

Standard H.S. tactic when outmatched -- pack in the defense, dump it over the top and hope for a lucky bounce

u pick em said...

Friday's AA games-

Woodbury
Burnsville

Eastview
Centennial

Anonymous said...

The key to Woodbury's success is to quickly shut down the top scorer for Burnsville. I have watched her play for years, and she is easily shaken. Centennial has a better record, depth, and young talent that can step up. The defense is strong, but may need to shift players to cover up top in the absence of their starting attacker. Should be fun to watch both games!

Anonymous said...

10:51am - a H.S. tactic? My guess is you don't watch a lot of soccer as you'll see that strategy at every level of the game all the way up to the Champions League.

Anonymous said...

Should be great games. Here are my picks:

Woodbury's experience prevails 2-1

Eastview beats Centennial w/o their top player 3-1

Anonymous said...

How many WB girls have state tournament experience?

Anonymous said...

I noticed the LVN coach scouting the Wayzata/Blaine game last night and he was taking all kinds of notes. It looked like LVN coach is scared to play Wayzata.

IMO, Wayzata beats Lakeville by 2!

Anonymous said...

1:27 - most ridiculous post ever. Maybe he was bored and writing his grocery list.

Anonymous said...

I think he was doing his job.

Anonymous said...

1:27...maybe not the most ridiculas comment, but it sure was a funny one!

My guess is that he was rescheduling his dinner plans for Nove 3rd...I thnk he's going to be busy at 5:30 and pushed dinner back a few hours.

LVN by 3!

Anonymous said...

SK is good but she is not Mia Hamm. She is stoppable. It is a team sport and the team that plays well as a team will prevail. There are other 2012's and 2013's that have regional and even national team experience that get overlooked in HS because they aren't selfish and play for team success not individual awards.

Anonymous said...

Tonight - Eastview will roll Centennial they just have too much depth and Premier level players and experience competitively in the toughest conference. Burnsville/Woodbury has the potential to be the best of the games as everyone has stated. They had 3 common opponents (Jefferson which they both beat) and Eagan and Edina which Burnsville beat but Woodbury lost to. That would point more towards Burnsville. Woodbury has much more experience and success and similarly a great coach. Burnsville is new to this with a new coach so edge to Woodbury. Both teams rely one one key striker have a strong defense and beat the ball around the mid field so no major edge there (perhaps a slight edge to Burnsville in the front). Neither team is known to be dominant in goal but not bad either. It will probably come down to who gets a break and/or who scores the first goal. If one team gets ahead, they can probably prevent a goal by playing more defensively. My guess is Woodbury in part because Burnsville also has lost most bigger games this year away from home. Hope the game plays out well either way!

Anonymous said...

When people talk of state tournament experience, how many of the WB girls have been in the state tournament before?

Anonymous said...

For sure gonna be:
Woodbury 1-0 (OT)
Eastview 4-0

Anonymous said...

2:02, I do agree with you that the teams that play well as a team will prevail, however, LVN does play well as a team, as they are undefeated and wouldn't be that way if they weren't all talented players and playing for a common goal. Also, I would hardly call SK selfish as she has assisted on 29 goals! And if you knew her, you would know she is playing for the team's success not herself!

Bold,Insightful,Thought Provoking AA Analysis said...

Thanks for asking 3:02.

Did you know that in the AA semi’s for the past 5 years that 85% of the teams that have won did so with clean sheets? I was surprised by this stat. The old adage “Defense wins championships” very much applies at this stage. I bring this up for our AA games tomorrow night because realistically they are semi-final caliber games with very evenly matched teams, and I think whoever can keep the ball out of the back of their net will move on.

Let’s look at some numbers around defensive performance, goals against:

Woodbury
Season to Date: 11
Vs. Ranked Teams: 5
2nd Half of Season (>9/20): 6
Sections: 3

Burnsville
Season to Date: 17
Vs. Ranked Teams: 9
2nd Half of Season (>9/20): 5
Sections: 1

Eastview
Season to Date: 12
Vs. Ranked Teams: 4
2nd Half of Season (>9/20): 4
Sections: 1

Centennial
Season to Date: 12
Vs. Ranked Teams: 3
2nd Half of Season (>9/20): 3
Sections: 1

Lakeville North
Season to Date: 6
Vs. Ranked Teams: 2
2nd Half of Season (>9/20): 3
Sections: 0

Wayzata
Season to Date: 11
Vs. Ranked Teams: 3
2nd Half of Season (>9/20): 6
Sections: 1

On paper, both Woodbury-Burnsville and Eastview-Centennial pretty much dead even, should be excellent matches. Was surprised to see Woodbury was the only team that let in more than one goal during sections. Lakeville North looks very, very good coupled with their offensive power.

Could we see both of Friday night’s games go into OT? Looks pretty likely based on the above.

Could we see shootouts in both? Yep.

Here’s my own picks for Friday:
Woodbury 1-0 (SO)
Eastview 2-0

Best of luck to all of these excellent athletes. I haven’t been able to figure out if any of these games tomorrow are being broadcasted on Prep45.com, if anyone knows please post.

ssc left the house!!!!

SSC still got most rooms in the house!

EV vs. Centennial was a uneventful first half, and plenty of opportunities in the second half. The advantage went to EV with several very near goals. OT advantage went to EV, with better ball control and some opportunities off corners. It was a very physical game, with some injuries on both sides. In shoot out, Centennial GK blocked three shots - she was amazing! Great turnout for both teams with lots of fans cheering them on. Great night for soccer, and it was difficult to see either team lose in such a hard fought game.

lest see lvn wins big

wayzata squeeks by

bvlle dominates wdbry and wins

ev controls play, has more chances at goal and loses in the worst way to decide a game in all of sports

looks like you are right the ssc just isn't that good!

I am confused. What is so important about being the best conference? It isn't like some soccer gods draw golden boundaries to create a special, gifted conference just for MN State HS soccer. Aren't conferences the same for every sport? So, are we going to sit in some sandbox and chant, "My conference is better than your conference?" So what? Aren't Sections more important, since that is what advances you in State? Seriously, why the relevance on the strength of your conference? Oh, and just for clarification, I don't think Burnsville dominated.

Anonymous said...

Burnsville / Woodbury was a good game with both sides creating some quality chances. The keepers on both sides were very solid with the only goal being a perfectly placed free kick into the upper corner. Someone has posted before the 'get the lead and play defense' strategy and thats what Burnsville did once they got ahead (they moved their top forward back to mid it seemed). Someone posted that 'Bville dominated Woodbury' which is outrageous. The play was fairly even (slight edge to Woodbury) up until the goal and after that Woodbury had all the play. Given Centennial's shutout of Eastview, it seems logical that the semi final will either be 1-0 or go to PKs. The other game will probably be more wide open maybe a 2-1 type score. Congrats to all teams for playing competitive and hard.

Anonymous said...

Why compete if you do not want to be labeled as the best or part of the best? that is why people argue as to what the best conference is. I believe some SSC peeps are just getting back at some who said the conference would be a joke once EP left, as this year showed, that is not the case. the SSC was easliy the best conferenc in the state

Anonymous said...

Any facts to back that up 4:59? I looked at the average final QRF of the SSC conference and there were not the top conference by that metric.

Anonymous said...

5:47,

Come on! Stop looking at FINAL QRF.

Eastview, Burnsville, Eagan & Lakeville North.

That makes a great conference.

Anonymous said...

Agree, great conference -- but the best? QRF doesn't think so...

Anonymous said...

So, it is a great conference! Rah Rah! We love you! Awesome job! Best of the Best! Kudos! Go SSC! You are Rockstars!....so what???

Heard a rumor Centennial's JR will not be allowed to play in the semi's because she chose to train with the junior national team. Looking for someone to confirm?

JRs mom said...

I will confirm...not. Thankfully, people much smarter than me, like the athletic director and Coach Ginger, thought about that before she left for camp. I have a signed copy of the waiver from the the MSHSL if you want me to post it. Unfortunately, on the other hand, DG suffered from an ACL on her other knee last night which will keep her on the bench. Best of luck to all players, and pray for safe, clean play and no injuries! GL to all teams!!!

Anonymous said...

Doesn't matter, SSC teams will be in the final.

Anonymous said...

Cool! That is so great!!! Way to go, SSC! That is so awesome! Very, very exciting! What an accomplishment, SSC! You are predicted to be in the final! Gold Medal to You! You must be the most talented players in the world! We bow to you! I bow to your talent! Best thing in the world! Whoever created SSC was a genius! He/She deserves a Noble Prize! I cannot even begin to describe how humble I am. God bows down to you, and SSC players walk on water! What a precious, priceless gift to humanity! or...so what?????

Speaking of rumors, rumor has it that MTA has recruited one of the head coaches from LVN to coach their G14 or G15 Elite team. Can anyone confirm?

Anonymous said...

Which one?

Anonymous said...

7:40, on behalf of the Great SSC conference, we thank you. I fully agree with everything you have said.

Since the AA state tourney is becoming a rematch of the SSC conference championships, we will be proposing renaming the MSHSL AA state tournament the "SSC Annual Invitational", and promise to let at least one not SSC play.

Anonymous said...

For sure not the girls U15, that coach has been set.

Anonymous said...

Sorry, coaches have been set for both U15 teams. And I am fairly sure both girls U14 coaches are set as well. Typically, they are set before try outs.

Anonymous said...

7:55! Let's do it! Sounds like a pompous, great idea! Oh, but wait...Centennial beat Burnsville earlier this season, 5-3. Unfortunate. Perhaps you shouldn't engrave that tiny rectangular thing of a ma jig on whatever trophy there may be just quit yet....

Anonymous said...

7:55 Pretty sure only one of the current SSC members has made it to the semis in the last 5 years, so may want to hold off on that for a while.

Anonymous said...

Sucks for Rev if MTA is also recruiting their top coaches, but good move for MTA... both the young LVN coaches are very talented.

Anonymous said...

Hey, I have an idea. Let's petition the Minnesota State High School League to change conferences. Obviously. SSC has all the talent. Who cares about other sports like football, swimming, adaptive soccer, track and field, the GIRLS SOCCER TEAMS prove that the competition is unfair! Unjustice! Write your Congressperson!!! or, who cares?

12:47

The edge in play for the game was definitely to BV. I would say 60-65%.

Anonymous said...

8:56 okay you win!!! You are correct! Congratulations to you! Thanks for making such an educated, unbiased statement! Kudos!!! Because of what you posted, you know what is going to happen? NOTHING! nothing at all! nobody cares! The game is over! If you want to post a comment explaining why you think that way, go ahead. Otherwise, NOBODY CARES! Tomorrow, the weather has a 50% chance of being nice! WHOOO WHOOO 60 - 65% chance of being non rainy and partly sunny!!! I am brillant!

Anonymous said...

Thank you.

Anonymous said...

All MTA coaches are in place as of right now. Names came out at try-outs. Maybe they're recruiting for next year?

Anonymous said...

LVN should dominate play vs. Wayzata as the Trojans will pack the box and try for single goal. 2-0 LVN. Centennial and Burnsville will be close. 3-2 Centennial. Keep stirring the pot SSC fan.

Anonymous said...

Can anyone explain the seeding process for the state tournament. It appeared to me before the 1st round that both Centennial and Burnsville were better options at the 4th seed than Wayzata. I am sure both Eastview and Woodbury would have preferred drawing the 6th best team.

Anonymous said...

WYZ won't score because they play KS as a defensive mid and she is the only one that can attack and score. The other forwards lack skill, speed and athleticism.

Anonymous said...

God bless you girls' parents. You reassure the rest of us that we're still sane.

Anonymous said...

11:55 Yes it is crazy! It is almost as if some of these coaches believe that one of the key objectives of soccer is to keep the other team from scoring!

Anonymous said...

Yes, and in addition to a strong defense, you need a player who can deliver the ball up to the attackers. Nobody does that better than KS. I totally understand the coach's decision. Yes, not as much glory from playing that position, but she does it better than anyone else in the State.

Four more days and time to start the club thread -- go MTA! First ECNL games in two weeks!

Anonymous said...

shut up MTA, let's just let these girls enjoy the end of the year

Anonymous said...

End of the year? The season is just beginning! GoRev!

Anonymous said...

it's just beginning for you losers.

Anonymous said...

Beginning of what? Beating your loser team! GoRev!

Anonymous said...

Rev will never be half the club MTA is. Do you even have boys' teams?

u pick em said...

and then there were four...(well 8 actually)

12 pm Blake v. Rochester Lourdes

2 pm Benilde v Totino Grace

4 pm Centennial v. Burnsville

6 pm Lakeville North v. Wayzata

Anonymous said...

Blake
Benilde
Centennial
Wayzata

AA - Centennial will be bolstered by getting their top scorer back but I can't imagine it is a repeat of the 5-3 game earlier this year. Centennial would be smart to pack it in and play direct and let JR try to score (yes this is crappy soccer but at this point it is about winning). I predict Centennial 1-0. LVN should continue their solid play but I expect Wayzata to get a goal. 2-1 LVN. LVN vs Centennial in the finals.

Anonymous said...

LVN 2-0
BV 3-1

Funny how the blog slows dramatically when Eastview (Dakota Rev kids) and Woodbury (big group of Thunder kids) loses.

Anonymous said...

1:07pm. I was thinking the same thing!

Anonymous said...

Plenty of REV connection still alive in the tournament. North has several REV Players and the entire coaching staff, Varsity and JV, are REV trainers/coaches.

Go North!

any score?

Burnsville - Cent 0-0 still in first half.
