Good Luck to all the Minnesota teams this year. I hope the hotels are better this year then last.

Anonymous said...

It's also closer than last year. I hope a lot of people can get out there and cheer our teams on.

Anonymous said...

...and safer. Drug deals going down in our hallways in Dayton.

Anonymous said...

here we go again...

Anonymous said...

I'm going down with my boy's team. One thing I already do not like about the situation is that they will be playing in two different locations. I wanted to watch other MN teams as well but will have to travel back an forth (Appleton - Depere). Although I heard the complex in Appleton is very nice!

Anonymous said...

What age/gender group will be the best chance for MN teams to advance this year? 14B, 15G, and 16B I think.

Anonymous said...

I would not think 15G, 17G maybe, but 15 has not proven themselves in ECNL.

Anonymous said...

9:00 What would be "proving themselves" in your mind? They appear to be competative.

Anonymous said...

MN will do well at 14 girls, 17girls and 18 girls 14 boys? A lot will depend on the draw.

Anonymous said...

17G, 18G, 19B.

Anonymous said...

Yeah 932, a record of 2-7-3 and 18th place is so competative.

Anonymous said...

Thank you for pointing out their record in the B flight. What you don't want to seem to talk about is that with the three games that they did play Region II teams, they actually played them very even.

Carmel 1-1
Ohio Elite 1-0
Ohio Premier 0-0

And this was at a time where players were still out injured.

Let's also mention two huge ties against top teams Real So Cal and Dallas. So lets not "slam" them yet. By the way, which flight was your team in?

Anonymous said...

yeah, but 18th place? really? That's almost North-Dakota/Yay-Minnesota's-in-my-bracket bad.

Anonymous said...

I would call 2 wins and 7 ties very competitive. To me it looks like tthey can compete with most teams. A few bounces their way at regionals and anything could happen. Of course the draw will have a lot to do with all teams success.

Anonymous said...

on the girls side the teams that have proven themselves to be strongest in the region are 14G, 17G, and 18G.
never paid much attention to 19's as no one really knows.
on the boys side, very difficult to forecast 16B-18B (even a bit at 15B) due to the DAP impact.
of course, so much depends on the draw. you could be the 2nd best team in the region but if the best and future champ is also in your pool, you'll never get to the semi's.

Anonymous said...

5:23am. Where is your team playing? I bet not anything above C2! You could clearly see the green streak of envy in your post.

Good luck to ALL MN teams as they head to regionals.

Outspoken said...

2 wins, 7 ties and 3 losses. I think it should really be 2-3-7. Give them some credit! That is competitive for MN soccer against some of the top teams in the country! Go MTA U15 Blue! They have some GREAT players on that team!.

Anonymous said...

MTA mom, nothing like beating up an anonymous poster to make yourself feel better. Maybe turn off the internet and go play with your kid.

Anonymous said...

My kids are 16 and 17, they really don't want to play anymore. But, I did go to the mall with one of them today, but I'm back now.

So 1:12pm, maybe it's time to get off the internet and go out and work on your soccer skills, so you won't be so bitter and you can make a top team. Many good clubs out there, but you can't be sitting in your mothers basement on the internet all day thinking you will get better.

Once again - Good luck to ALL teams going to regionals!

ECNL B bracket competition is absolute garbage.

Anonymous said...

Two wins coming against bottom two teams who have a combined -51 goal differential. You could have played against some MN C 1 teams and gotten more out it. Bet the college coaches were surrounding the field for those two. I'll wait for standard justifications and chest puffing.

Anonymous said...

You are correct there are some garbage teams in the ECNL b bracket but the entire division is not garbage. What does that say for the state of your club when the best team in mn is currently in 18th place. Too me it says you would not be able to compete at all. Go MTA.

Anonymous said...

he he he. they just can't take any criticism, can they?

"we totally suck, but we're better than you!"

Anonymous said...

actually 557, the college coaches show for the 15 games, but more tend to watch the 16s, because most of the girls in that age group are in the class currently being recruited. And yes, they show for both A and B flights.

Anonymous said...

The 16's who have 5 wins against teams with a combined -74 goal differential in ECNL B? It is garbage. When do parents/coaches realize that ECNL B is a watered down waste of time and money they are being sold? Top teams in the country/really good talent is the top 10 of ECNL A. The rest is a complete joke. An expensive complete joke sold to parents lead to believe it is the only path to a college scholarship. You can find better teams at 2nd tier tournaments.

Anonymous said...

Kinda like what MRL 1st division has become: "Let's pay more money to travel to play the same C1 teams we'd see here."

Anonymous said...

This is the thread for Regionals. If you want to talk ECNL, take it over to that thread.

Anonymous said...

the question that i always have is why do these people even care? not their kid, not their team, not their money, seriously why should it even bother them?

tomASS said...

@856 - great question. Have you ever gotten a truthful answer?

Anonymous said...

nope. not even close.

Anonymous said...

8:56am Agreed! Not sure why it bothers some people. Sometimes maybe envy, maybe just hatred towards a club. Whatever it is, I say the same thing "why do you even care?" Worry about yourself and/or your child.

Anonymous said...

They're threatened by others' success. That's all.

Anonymous said...

Here's a list of college coaches who watched the MTA 16's at PDA in the complete joke, watered down ECNL B group. Not sure where else you can get this kind of exposure.

US Soccer National Team Scout , Maryland, Minnesota, West Virginia, Texas, Oklahoma, Rice, Florida Gulf Coast, Pitt, Fordham, Memphis, Navy, Wisconsin, NC State, Delaware, UNLV, Penn State, Iowa, George Mason, Michigan, Dayton, Georgetown, DePaul, Northwestern, Purdue, Virginia, Rutgers, Charlotte, Virginia Tech, Loyola Chicago, Marquette, Pepperdine, Indiana State, Massachusetts, Iowa State, Marist College, Dartmouth, East Carolina, Missouri, Cal, Washington & Lee, Akron, Tampa, Brown, Duquesne, Villanova, Columbia, Harvard, Limestone, Liberty, Cleveland State, Iona College, Louisville, Miami, JMU, Providence, Bryant, LaSalle, Lafayette, US Air Force Academy, Syracuse, Saint Joseph’s, SCAD, Illinois, Yale, Marshall , Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas A&M, San Diego St., Virginia , Duquesne, Wesleyan, Washington, Iowa, Wake Forest, Providence, Virginia Tech, Wyoming, Saint Francis, West Virginia, Arizona, Oklahoma
Rhode Island, Ohio State, Iowa State, Notre Dame, Boise State, Siena, American, Penn State, Cornell, UNC-Charlotte, Alabama, Boston U

Anonymous said...

Let me know in a year how many of those kids will play at one of those programs my guess is no more than there on a good day a lot of money spent so a few that are good enough get exposure the rest will go to schools in Midwest and will be recruited at state cup not saying ecnl is bad but it does not determine if a kid plays in college or not talent does.

Anonymous said...

hmmm...not sure the USWNT scout watched an 18th-place "b" level team, unless her neice was on the field. Just because a scout is at an event doesn't mean they're watching your daughter.

Anonymous said...

http://www.region2.com/assets/regionii_championships/2011%20Schedule%20on%20web.pdf

Brackets are out! Good luck to all the Minnesota teams!

Anonymous said...

3:28,

Two on that team are committed. One to a school on that list. Those are the two juniors on the team, the rest are sophomores.

Anonymous said...

345, they are NOT in 18th place, 11th which is the top half of their 26 team flight.

Anonymous said...

Looking at the girls draws..
13s, tough draw with Ohio South, Ohio North and Indiana
14s, challenging with MRL 1, Michigan, North Dakota
15s, decent draw with Kansas, Illinois 2 and South Dakota
16s, no chance, the clear favorite in this group will be Nebraska, also have Kansas and Kentucky
17s, great draw for them MRL 2, Missouri, Kentucky 2
18s, another great draw, South Dakota 2, MRL 2 and Kansas
19s, Decent (I think, but 19 is such a wierd age group) Wisconsin, South Dakota, Missouri

Anonymous said...

6:59 - not true. there is at least one other junior on that team (ML) and maybe two (AM).

Anonymous said...

Don't know that team that well, I'll take your word for it. Just know of the two.

Anonymous said...

Pretty good draws for the Minnesota girls. Cant wait to be there to cheer you on. Best of luck to all the Minnesota teams!!

Anonymous said...

No chance for the 16s? Really? If the Nebraska team is Toro, it will be a challenge for them, but they have beaten Toro in the past. I'm not saying they have an easy draw, but I am saying they will at least compete in the group.

It looks like the 17s and 18s have a chance to advance. The 15 draw was good as well.

I think this is the order of the teams with the best chance (best to toughest)
17s
18s
19s
15s
16s
14s
13s

It was a really unfotunate draw for the 13s.

Anonymous said...

Regardless of Club, I'll be pulling for all the Minnesota teams (boys and girls). Yes, even the (gasp!) MTA teams.

And no, I am NOT an MTA parent.

Anonymous said...

Boys draw...
13 - KY, IL (May play other group with 3? WI, MO, IA)
14 - IA, MI, MRL2
15 - WI, SD, KY
16 - IL, IA, NE
17 - MI, WI, OS
18 - MO, SD, NE
19 - OS, IA, IL

Anonymous said...

18s have region finalist and 2x region champion in their group. Both Top 8 ECNL A teams, good luck.
16s have tough group as well.

Anonymous said...

I have watched the 15 girls play. If they are healthy and have all there players they have a good chance to get thru pool play.

Anonymous said...

Sorry 1231 just a fan that loves to watch girls soccer.

Anonymous said...

12:31pm translation....

You will be sitting at home during regionals wishing your team had made it, but alas you'll be hearing score updates on this blog while you knock other teams that did make it.

Anonymous said...

Mark my words. NO MN girls team will advance. None.

Anonymous said...

None?

Anonymous said...

16b advancing to semis with this draw

MA said...

If we beat the 2010 Region Champs (Hawks) and the team that beat the 2010 Region Champs in the 2011 MI State Cup (Vardar), we'll likely advance at 14G :)

19G have a good change of advancing.

Anonymous said...

That's a big IF!

Anonymous said...

16B will be shocked when they don't advance.

Anonymous said...

19B will advance.

Anonymous said...

18B won't. Probably the weakest of all MN entries.

Anonymous said...

who cares about 18B? really. All anyone cares about is the MTA girls. Everything else is irrelevant.

Anonymous said...

17G have a good chance of advancing

Anonymous said...

pshaw. not.

Anonymous said...

my list in order of MN teams with the best chances of advancing:

Anonymous said...

16B will advance. IA and NE should not be hard. IL (CFJ North) may be the tougher game but MTA should beat them. CFJ played MRL in the 1st division. MTA player MRL premier (3rd) and National League with tougher competition.

Anonymous said...

nope. CFJ is better.

Anonymous said...

959 - looking for that list...

Anonymous said...

Precisely. THere isn;t a list. Get it? MTA owns MN but is not competitive o/s MN.

Anonymous said...

There are three teams on the girls side that compete very well nationally. Woodbury's Inferno at u19, MTA's 17s, and MTA's 14s.

Anonymous said...

Does anyone know if CS and KK are going to regionals with the Inferno? They are not in the state cup photo, so I was curious.

Anonymous said...

they are not.

Anonymous said...

Ep 18 could do well

Anonymous said...

16G Resional preview this weekend. MTE is playing KCFC (according to the team's schedule on the ECNL website).

Anonymous said...

The MTA ECNL teams are actually playing a team called KCFC Futura Academy out of Missouri. Not the same team the U16's (or the 15's) will see in their bracket game against Kansas as this team is from Missouri.

Anonymous said...

Kansas 16G state cup champion KCFC
https://events.gotsport.com/events/resultsgrid.aspx?EventID=17126&GroupID=166984

Anonymous said...

Nope. At U16, it's the same team. KCFC ECNL = KCFC Force (KS). Rosters match. http://kcfcalliance.com/kcfcsoccer/web/teamdetails.php?teamid=36

http://www.eliteclubsnationalleague.com/teams/28051288/29761027-28051338/TEAM.html

Come on people...it's not that hard to find info.

Anonymous said...

Same team...
According to ENCL Website, coach Richard Davies
http://www.eliteclubsnationalleague.com/teams/28051288/29761027-28051338/TEAM.html

According to link above, coach Richard Davies.

It sucks to be wrong.

Anonymous said...

The 15's match up the other way, so that's what I was going by. I guess we will find out Sunday!

Anonymous said...

It will be interesting to see if the 16s can hang. KCFC is in A flight at ECNL, MTA in the be B flight.

MTA Top half of B, KCFC bottom half of A.

Anyway, I think we'll se if the 16Gs even have a prayer at regionals.

Anonymous said...

No one really cares about the 16G team. That whole age groups is probably one of the weakest.

Anonymous said...

U17 MTA team ties 2-2 to finish in the top 8 of the ECNL A bracket. Nice work, girls.

Anonymous said...

I thought Minnesota teams couldn't compete at the regional and national level?
These type of results seem to indicate otherwise.

Anonymous said...

how did the other matches turn out?

Anonymous said...

16's tied 1-1.

Anonymous said...

The 16G MTA-KCFC game was the only game that is related to regionals. 1-1 tie. It will be interesting to see how the rematch goes next week.

Other results (for those who care) are now posted on the ECNL Website.
15 MTA 0 - KCFC 3
16 MTA 1 - KCFC 1
17 MTA 2 - KCFC 2
18 MTA 1 - KCFC 6

So much for competing on the regional and national level 421

Anonymous said...

5:43
We have girls in the top 8 in the "A" flight in ECNL.
We have Minnesota boys teams in the USSF Development Academy in the playoffs.
Isn't that competing at the regional and national levels?
Set aside your bias and applaud the accomplishments of Minnesota's soccer players.

Anonymous said...

5:43
I agree with you. The level of play has really improved in the last 6-8 years or so.
We have two boys from Minnesota starting for the U14 National Team.
It's an exciting time for Minnesota soccer.

Anonymous said...

oh oh. blogmaster is playing god/censor!!!

tomASS said...

@232 - his blog, his rules. We are only guests here.

Anonymous said...

16G have a chance. Beaten Toro in the past, tied KCFC, yet to play the Kentucky draw. One of their stronger forwards will be gone, but the team is really starting to pull through in all positions. Definitely possible.

Anonymous said...

whew. there's an excuse for not advancing.

Anonymous said...

Is that the girl who is going to try out for the national hockey team instead of playing with her team? Seems unfair to the team, but I guess if I were her parents, I might do the same.

Anonymous said...

yep. better future in women's hockey.

Anonymous said...

Bet that kid want be on that team next year time to choose sport

Anonymous said...

@ 10:30 - in what way? you might be right, just curious what your reasoning is?

Anonymous said...

Hailing from the Minneapolis (Akale) he’s as dynamic a player as there is in camp and he repeatedly showed his dribbling ability by carving up the defense. He’s a speedy left-footed player, who played out right and typically cut back inside.

Because he’s so fast and shifty there were times when he dribbled into no man’s land – just because you can get anywhere you want to on the field, doesn’t necessarily mean you should. But he’ll learn that, and he’s a serious talent.

In the second half, Akale scored on a great build from the back and setup by Lindley, who also played a good match, setting up Akale’s goal as well.

Anonymous said...

They started with a lineup that featured goalkeeper JT Marcinkowski, defenders Max Stiegwardt, David Chavez, and John Antunes, midfielders Orestis Sousonis, Malcolm Jones, Sean Wilson, Cameron Lindley, Mukwelle Akale and strikers Malcolm Dixon and Remington Pimm.

Sousonis, a small and shifty attacker, showed he fit right in with the dangerous lineup early on. The U.S. side played with just three backs for what may have been the first time all week and it only put more pressure on Albion SC.
Akale seemed to toy with defenders at times, and scored the opening goal - after the team missed out on several chances - on a 1v1 sequence that saw him beat at least three players.

Stiegwardt and Akale are minnesota kids playing for MTA

Anonymous said...

wow. a future freddy adu in our midst.

Anonymous said...

He is also 21 years old.

Anonymous said...

Good Luck to all the Minnesota teams. We will be there to cheer you on!

Anonymous said...

...or at least he was, when he played for the U17 MNT.

Anonymous said...

amazing how when everyone has been through puberty, different kids are the best.

Anonymous said...

These two kids are amazing and if I were you, skeptics,I'd find out were they play so I could be part of history.

Anonymous said...

A Prairie Seeds freshman, or 8th grader?

Anonymous said...

I know of the kid they're saying who's very fast and shifty and he's a really small kid. You would think he's actually younger than 14 based on his physical stature but he's amazing with the ball. His father was also an incredible player in his day.

Anonymous said...

thanks for the commentary, dad.

Anonymous said...

11:29,
I actually played against the father in men's leagues, his name is Ralph, and he was an amazing player. He was also very small but quick and crafty as could be with the ball. The kid is a chip off the old block.

Anonymous said...

my kid's dad was an amazing player too. technically brilliant.

Anonymous said...

Good luck to every Minnesota team travelling this weekend. Enjoy the experience and ignore the craziness of the adults.

Anonymous said...

MNF,

Will there be reports from regionals posted here this weekend?

MNF said...

There were no volunteers. I would guess some parents or coaches who are there will post. We'll see.

Great day for MN soccer! Sounds like they're competing to me!
Good luck tomorrow!

Anonymous said...

Easy games. They will all lose tomorrow.

Anonymous said...

U14G actually won 7-1, but you only get points for th first 4 goals in the standings.

Anonymous said...

Wow 637, thank you Mr. Negativity.

Still stinging over a state cup loss or something? Maybe, you should stay off here if it's going to ruin your day.

Anonymous said...

I agree with 7:13pm, 6:37pm stop being so jealous! You're team is stuck in MN while the team that beat you is in WI. Time to move on and get over it!

Anonymous said...

I would rather stay home and avoid losing tomorrow.

Anonymous said...

So 7:52pm, you will only play a game that you know you'll win? So do you stay home and tell your coach "sorry coach, I know we won't win tonight, so I'm going to sit this one out!"
I bet you're teammates love you! What a loser!

Anonymous said...

Gotta love these "losers" who aren't even playing at Region 2 Championships dissing our Minnesota winners...very classy.

Anonymous said...

No 4:19 I was sittin in a boat on Mille Lacs

Anonymous said...

How old were the Chicago Fire U16 boys?

Anonymous said...

Futura (U18B) went 1-4-1 in MRL first division this year. THEY'RE representing a typically strong state? Wow. DA is really weakening the U18B (and probably U16B) competition.

Anonymous said...

ECNL will impact the girls side next year. Top teams at 15, 16, 17 and 18 will not be playing in their state cups.

Anonymous said...

10:28, is that true for all states, or only mn teams?

Anonymous said...

Great Job to the teams representing Minnesota!!

Anonymous said...

11:24,

ECNL member clubs are exclusively US Club Soccer next year, they will not take part in USYS leagues or events. So they will not take part in their state association's state cup.

It was a good day for Minnesota teams at the Region II tournament yesterday. Let's hope they keep the momentum today. Here is today's schedule...

15B - Minneapolis United vs. Milwaukee
18G - Eden Prairie vs. Ohio Premier

9:30 games...
14B - MTA vs. St. Louis Scot Gallagher
14G - MTA vs. Michigan Hawks

10:00 games...
17G - MTA vs. St. Louis Scott Gallagher

19B - St. Croix vs. Des Moines Menace
17B - Shattuck vs. Grand Rapids Crew Jrs.

1:00 game...
13B - MTA vs. Sporting KC Jrs.

4:00 games...
16G - MTA vs. KCFC (KS)
15G - MTA vs. Eclipse (IL)
16B - MTA vs. West Des Moines SC
13G - Centennial vs. Carmel United (IN)

Good luck EVERYONE

Anonymous said...

Day two is always an interesting day in tournaments. After today, some will be eliminated, some will still have a chance and a few groups may be decided. What's on the line for today's games...

8:00 games...
15B - Minneapolis United vs. Milwaukee - Must win for MUS. A loss means elimination
18G - Eden Prairie vs. Ohio Premier - EP can still advance with a loss or a tie. Either way, Tomorrow's game against KCFC will be a big test.

9:30 games...
14B - MTA vs. St. Louis Scot Gallagher - If MTA wins, they'll face a tough Vardar team for a winner takes all match
14G - MTA vs. Michigan Hawks - same as the 14B, not a must win, but a win or tie goes a long way for this team advancing.

10:00 games...
17G - MTA vs. St. Louis Scott Gallagher - Winner of this game should take the group.
19G - Woodbury vs. Dakota Alliance (SD) - A must win for the Inferno if they want to keep pace with FC Milwaukee who they face tomorrow.
18B - Blackhawks vs. NFC Veleno (NE) - top two teams in this group. The winner of this game is in the driver's seat.

12:00 games...
19B - St. Croix vs. Des Moines Menace - If St. Croix wins(or even ties) they will face Illinois tomorrow to see who will advance.
17B - Shattuck vs. Grand Rapids Crew Jrs. - a loss or a tie and Shattuck will not advance. Technically a tie give them a chance, but a lot to make up in GD.

1:00 game...
13B - MTA vs. Sporting KC Jrs. - A must win, plain and simple a loss or a tie does nothing for this team.

4:00 games...
16G - MTA vs. KCFC (KS) - MTA must win or tie to stay alive. If they lose, they are still mathematically alive, but both KCFC and Toro are good teams. That said, a win, plus a tie in the other game (Toro-Javanon) and MTA clinches.
15G - MTA vs. Eclipse (IL) - Tough game for the 15s. A loss (even a tie, most likely) and they're done.
16B - MTA vs. West Des Moines SC - After an opening win, MTA is sitting in position to face Omaha tomorrow for what I believe will decide this group.
13G - Centennial vs. Carmel United (IN) - This is an interesting game. The winner is technically still alive, but both teams have a tough road in this group.

Yesterday was a very good day for Minnesota teams at Region 2 Championships.
It's great to see our state competitive with the best in the region. It wasn't that long ago we were happy with a win or 2 at regions. Yesterday our Minnesota teams won 8 games, lost 3 and tied 3.
A rising tide lifts all ships.

8:00 game result...
18G - Eden Prairie 1 - Ohio Premier 2.
Eden Prairie is now 1-1-0 (3 points) and tied for second in the group. Infact, even if EP beats KCFC tomorrow, it looks to be imposssible for them to win any tie breakler if there is a three-way tie. If you do the math, it appears KCFC moves on. The only scenario where EP advances is, a win against KCFC and an OP loss to South Dakota which is not very likely (OP loss especially).

15B - Minneapolis United score is not yet posted. It seems the scores from the De Pere complex are slower to get reported and posted.

Minneapolis United 1 - Milwaukee 5. MUS (0-1-1) is eliminated from advancing.

MTA U14G beat last years Region champion Michigan Hawks today 1-0. A HUGE win for Minnesota soccer!

Anonymous said...

EP win by 2 or more goals and they advance according to tie breaker rules.

MTA U14 Boys beat Scott Gallagher 3-0. Another very big win for the Minnesota kids!

U17 Girls 2-0 win over Scott Gallagher. They advance to semis.

Way to go MN! Funny, but the "MN teams can't win a game in regionals" doubters are no where to be found today!

9:30 Results...
14B - MTA 3 - Scott Gallagher (MO) 0.
Like 12:06 said, big win for the 14s. Big game tomorrow against Vardar with the winner advancing. MTA cannot tie this game because Vardar would win the GD tie breaker.

14G - MTA 1 - Michigan Hawks 0.
Again a big win. They are in the same exact position as the 14B team. MTA must win against Vardar tomorrow. Tie or lose and they go home.

10:00 results...
17G - MTA 2 - St. Louis Scott Gallagher 0.
Another big win for the Minnesota team. The 17s are now guaranteed to move on to the semi finals (I think). Even with a loss tomorrow against Lexington (last in group) MTA has beaten both second place teams so they have the head-to-head tie breaker.

19G - Woodbury 7 - Dakota Alliance (SD) 0.
Another big win for the hometown team. The Inferno will win their group with a win or tie against FC Milwaukee tomorrow. Tough game for them, but they are in control of their own destiny and would win a goal differential tie breaker.

17B - Shattuck score not yet posted. The De Pere delay strikes again.

Woodbury U19 Girls win and are sitting 2-0. They advance with a win or tie vs FC Milwaukee tomorrow.

Anonymous said...

the 17B game is a noon game, not 10:00 my bad...

Anonymous said...

...but the 18B game is final (that was the 10:00 game)...

18B Blackhawks 2 - Veleno 3
The loss eliminates the Blackhawks (1-1-0). Even with a win tomorrow, the loss today gives Veleno the head-to-head tie breaker.

Wow, EP Stinks! What a big let down by them & their coach!

Anonymous said...

1:03, You are right. All that talent and they still can't win!

Whatta joke.

Anonymous said...

How old were MTA u14 boys opponents? 14?

Anonymous said...

Didn't they play the current region runner-up today? Loss by one isn't exactly stinking in my book. Odd comment 1:03.

JE is overrated, she has had lots of talented teams and has never gotten out of group play. No shocker EP won't advance again.

19B - St. Croix 0 - Des Moines Menace 1
St. Croix (0-1-1) is eliminated. Even a win and a loss by Crew Jrs. (OH-S) won't do it. They lose a head-to-head tie breaker.

17B - Shattuck 0 - Grand Rapids Crew Jrs. 4
Shattuck (0-1-1) is eliminated

1:00 game result...
13B MTA 0 - Sporting KC 6.
MTA (0-2-0) is eliminated

@251 - disagree with you on your opinion of JE. Results at regions do not tell a very big part of the whole story

The EDP U18 girls are a good team. It's tough to knock them for not performing better at Regions. I think they're playing up to their potential and they're not playing poorly. They just happen to be facing the best from other states.
This is an age group where the best players are split up among among a few teams without the significant consolidation of talent as we've seen in many other age groups.

wow. I thought the MTA u13??? boys would do better.

Since people are slow to update day 2, here we are:

MTA 13B: 0-2-0
MTA 14B: 2-0-0
MUS 15B: 0-1-1
MTA 16B: 2-0-0
SSM 17B: 0-1-1
BHK 18B: 1-1-0
SCV 19B: 0-1-1

Only chances to advance are 14B qnd 16B. 16B will; 14B won't.

Anonymous said...

and the girls, though they don't really matter that much:

CNS 13G: 0-2-0
MTA 14G: 2-0-0
MTA 15G: 0-2-0
MTA 16G: 1-1-0
MTA 17G: 2-0-0
EDP 18G: 1-1-0
WDB 19G: 2-0-0

Only chances to advance are 14G, 17G, and 19G. 17G and 19G will. 17G has always been our state's best chance. Funny how JE's former team is now on the verge of advancing for the first time, with two SCV coaches.

Boys: 5-6-3

Non-MTA: 4-7-3
Total: 13-12-3

7:03pm Sexist pig! Why doesn't the girls score matter as much as the boys? It looks like the girls teams are doing better than the boys teams! Way to go MN girls!!!!

if it makes anyone feel better, here's how they're doing up in the Dakotas:

B
13: 0-2-0. 0 GF, 10 GA
14: 0-3-1. 4 GF, 20 GA
15: 0-0-0
16: 0-2-0. 1 GF, 8 GA
17: 0-4-0. 2 GF, 24 GA
18: 0-1-1. 1 GF, 7 GA
19: 0-2-0. 0 GF, 6 GA

For the boys, they are 0-14-2, with 8 GF and 75 GA.

G
13: 0-2-0. 0 GF, 9 GA
14: 0-4-0. 1 GF, 19 GA
15: 0-2-0. 0 GF, 13 GA
16: 0-2-0. 1 GF, 3 GA
17: 0-2-0. 0 GF, 19 GA
18: 0-4-0. 1 GF, 28 GA
19: 0-2-0. 0 GF, 16 GA

The Dakota girls are 0-18-0, with 3 GF and 107 GA.

Let me get my calculator to total this one: 0-32-2, with a whopping 11 goals for in 34 games, and a really whopping 183 goals against.

Lordy lordy, probably not a lot of keepers getting recruited from Fargo, Bismarck or Rapid City.

I'm not a sexist pig, just a realist pig.

Anonymous said...

If you were a realist pig, you would realize that girls soccer is a much bigger deal in MN. Twice as many girls are recruited by colleges than the boys. I on the other hand, applaud both boys and girls teams because both genders matter in soccer!

AK's team a disaster in Wisconsin. -6 goal differential, time for a new coach.

JE is a good coach and a good person. She is ethical and develops those kids on and off the field. I believe JE is the only female coach at Regional’s for MN and that is a good accomplishment to get the EP team there.

Woodbury had an easier draw this year. Last year, Woodbury had the same coaches, ran in to the Eclipse and did NOT make it out of pool play. Let’s make sure we are stating ALL the facts here.

If you think you can do better, take on a team and show us what you got :-)

Anonymous said...

Funny thing is if JE ever coaches for MTA all the hate goes away. MTA must hate the fact she develops teams outside of their club. MTA teams haven't been able to beat her on the field so they resort to the attacks off of it. Why not embrace it?

Anonymous said...

JE is a great coach and very well respected among MTA parents, players and coaches. We wish her lots of success. On the same note, we wish she would come to MTA. Whatever is good for soccer in the state of MN is what MTA believes, despite what some of you people think.

ha ha. that is a good one. thank you for being the voice of your club, 919

maybe there needs to be a DTA (Dakota Thunder Academy). That would fix it I'm sure.
