Barca - way too much skill for Man U.

Barca wins 2-1. It will be a great game to watch!

Only way ManU wins is if they take it to PKs. ManU won't be seeing the ball too much.

Rooney = Overrated

ManU 2 - Barca 1

Barca wins 3-1 - hope the stay away from the acting they did against Real Madrid.

Agree with Mister Soccer about Rooney, Berbatov can be dangerous but is running out of gas.

Park has been the glue recently IMO- would love for Liverpool to pursue him

Should be an entertaining game

Mister Soccer said...

Berbatov is a lazy pile. Great skill on the ball, but he's rich, old and lazy.

ManU isn't scoring in the first 120. If Barca scores early, floodgates will open for a romp.

Mister Soccer - I think when Barca scores, early or late, the flood gates open with multiple goals.

Barca is a team that knows how to complete a "kill"

Fox ruined coverage of the game. We understand you need to stay on the tornado coverage. Don't you have the engineering talent to switch the game over to one of your other digital channels? Couldn't you have put the game on FSNl and told people to turn the channel? Isn't that what disaster recovery is all about? ESPN can switch from ESPN to ESPN2 to ESPNU, etc.

@109 - another person told me that he didn't think they would have done it if it was Glee or American idol. I totally agree

Then the weekend anchor ( read, time in spotlight) scolds the soccer viewers to stop calling and texting and "cheesing?" Fox for how they were handling it. While at the same time, "The Good Neighbor" on 4 for the most part only scrolled the information across the bottom of the scream so as not to interrupt golf......guess they didn't want to wake the viewers or knew they were taking a nap.

As everyone also heard they referred to the match as the World Cup a few times.

If this were any other year my guess is fox would have reduced the weather coverage. But, This year record numbers of Americans have lost their lives in tornados. No way was Fox going away from the weather coverage when the Tornado WARNING was issued right in the south metro. Any adult who questions that decision is short sighted to the bigger picture. Public safety comes first. Was it disapointing to have to watch in the smaller box, yees for me it was, but really calling the station to complain about them covering a tornado warning. Are you the same people who get mad at the Ref when they stop your kids game due to lightning ? Really disapointed in the soccer communities lack of understanding on this one.

@2:41 Didn't you read 1:09's question? FOX doesn't know how to switch the feeds like ESPN? How do you explain WCCO's way of handling the situation? Disappointed in FOX for not being resourceful enough to think outside the box.

tomASS said...

@241 and agreeing with 307, Far better way to handle this situation then the way Fox did.

Based on the actual weather circumstances it was far overblown (forgive the pun). I lived in the area of concern and it was much to do about nothing.

No I didn't call the station, but the manner which Fox handled this was not very professional

A. Rooney's goal was great. Rooney only had 2 give-aways - unusually low for him. While he is still over-rated, he had a good game.

B. CBS, ABC and NBC all minimized the weather coverage and went back to regular programming. FOX blew that one on all levels. Thankfully I'm a seasoned veteran and recorded the re-play on FSC.

C. tomASS, who would you rather have? Pique or Vidic?

tomASS said...

@ Mister Soccer, let me answer it this manner if you don't mind.

If I was filling a center back spot on my favorite EPL team, Liverpool, I would take Vidic.

If I was filling a center back spot for Inter Milan I would take Pique.

If I was just selecting an all-world club team, it would depend who I could have as my other center back

tomASS said...

I hit enter too quickly

If it was Arsenal it would be Pique

If I had to choose one or the other - it would be Pique. I prefer composure of my defenders out of the back

Great game. Barcelona is the best group of players on the planet.

After watching archive games on FoxSoccer and DirecTV over the years, I think this group at Barca may be the best club team ever.

Mister Soccer said...

It's the best team I've ever seen.

I'd say ManU 1999, ManU 2007, Brazil 2002 and Argentina 2007 are some of the runner-up teams.

Come on Bayern...Chelsea eats wood!

Numereous Missed Opportunities by Bayern results in a Chelsea win.

See parents, even highly paid professionals have an easy time making a mess of things that one would think they shouldn't
