About Me

I am an avid footy fanatic following US Men's and Women's National Teams, UW-Milwaukee Panthers, UMN Men’s Club and Women’s teams, the MLS, EPL, and the Spanish League when I can catch a game. Locally I try to get to MIAC college games, NPSL and NSC Stars games. My favorite cups include Champions League, World Cup and Gold Cup.

All 5 of my children played/play at various levels. I have some experience as a player parent, manager and coach with everything from recreational youth play, to MYSA leagues, Midwest Regional Leagues, ODP, State Cup and USYSA Regionals, and National Showcase tournament. I have also helped on the club organization side with Fuller Park Soccer, Minneapolis United and Bangu. Many of my adult friendships have been developed on the field and sidelines.

I grew up playing the game in the streets of San Antonio. We didn't have much club or high school soccer, but my family moved to the Midwest in the early 80s and I was lucky enough to play college soccer at Viterbo University in LaCrosse, WI. My lack of talent was over shadowed by aggressive play and passion for the game. I still play a bit (badly, and would like to apologize to those who I have bungled-over on the pitch) and also referee and coach. The later, not so much lately.

I am hoping this blog can be a tool for all soccer fans to read interesting commentary and share thoughts and ideas. Together, we can strengthen the soccer community in MN for players of all levels. I love this game!
