With surprise winners at last years Boy's finals, who are some of the favorites coming into this fall season? Who are some of the top players in the metro area?
Soccer is the fifth-most popular sport for boys and girls at the high school level. I was just watching the Olympics and was wondering who finished in fifth place in most of the events. Why do we spend time abusing ourselves when the game has yet to grow in the US? Leave the kids to play the game and not worry about stats, clubs, HS, etc.
Soccer is the #1 youth participation sport in the country. It is #2 in growth year over year behind Lacrosse. It continues to have to fight at the HS level for facilities and funds to allow it to grow.
White Bear Lake will be a sleeper they beat Champlin 4-2 in a scrimmage and beat Hill Murray 2-0 they play woodbury this week also.... keep an eye on them
I know that anoka is not as good as they were last year but the seniors on monticello are the same guys who were in the premier league two years ago. So that score is not a big shocker or an indication that anoka is in trouble.
How do you get knocked out of Top 10 when you aren't even in the top ten?
1. Anoka 2. Eden Prairie 3. Apple Valley 4. Wayzata 5. St. Louis Park 6. Edina 7. Champlin Park 8. Minneapolis South 9. Stillwater Area 10. White Bear Lake
The Trib put them in the top ten teams in their preview(ranking said to be compiled by a staff writer)...that is probably what was being referred to
Here it is: BOYS TOP 10 TEAMS 1. Eden Prairie: Has speed and scorers. 2. Anoka: Defending Class 2A champion. 3. Apple Valley: Always tough, even when rebuilding. 4. St. Louis Park: Eight starters are back from a 17-victory team. 5. Edina: Three of the top four goal scorers return from its 2007 unit. 6. Stillwater: Young defenders will determine fate. 7. Champlin Park: Welton Mah part of talented group. 8. Woodbury: Boasts two of the state's top players. 9. Blake: Returns 12 players from Class 1A runners-up. 10. Bloomington Jefferson: Danny Storlien back as coach.
1. Anoka 2. Eden Prairie 3. Apple Valley 4. Wayzata 5. St. Louis Park 6. Edina 7. Champlin Park 8. Minneapolis South 9. Stillwater Area 10. White Bear Lake
Maradona agree on the comedy comment, and with E.P. assessment. Picture should get a little clearer in the next few days.Any other teams you feel on paper that are noteworthy?
Star Tribune writer has probably been tracking the tripe on this blog. Jefferson's 2-0; will probably double the number in the win column by season's end. Big dogs Apple Valley and EP don't need to worry about any Bloomington teams.
Anyone know any of the top 5 Metro players that the Star Tribune named? Where do the play in the summer? Only have ever heard of Dula, interesting list.....
Wow, HS soccer, as described by the star-baloon may be at an all time low.
Besides Fadis, who will not play big time college soccer, who are the other players? Although we all know the Stillwater coach is behind the information.
Who is Kallman and how is the last name synonymous with soccer? Do they mean Kallum (sp?)? With last years senior and his older brother who both will have played D1 soccer. Though the younger will not ever see any clock...but that is a different thread. The other 3 probably won't make any D3 college teams. If I were a player from this past summer bangu U17s I would be pissed!
TOP 5 PLAYERS Dula Fields, Minneapolis South, senior: The midfielder led the Tigers in scoring in 2007.
Tips Jackley, Blake, senior: An all-state goalkeeper as a junior. The Bears yielded only six goals a year ago.
Brent Kallman, Woodbury, senior: Last name and soccer are synonymous.
Albert Sims, Osseo, senior: Sims has the combination of speed and being good with the ball.
Adam Wieckert, St. Louis Park, senior: Attacker is the leader of a very veteran group.
this is a total joke....one dulas last names is fadis...two why would you ever put someone from osseo in a better catigory than whitney browne? No credit to this star trib top 5 players.
I'd say Coon Rapids could be tough. Anoka? Probably not. Hill Murray? Nope. Wayzata? Nope. Edina and SLP? To soon to tell. champlin? Yes. Osseo? Yes and no. Just like always.
Big upset Prior Lake 3 BJ 1. PL had a great game plan while Jeff looked confused and frustrated at times.Jeff is too good to lose to a team like Pl but the season is just starting.
Jefferson had to make a couple changes in the back due to injury and it made it easy for a decent forward to score on a couple breakaways. Possession and total offensive was in favor for Jefferson but if they can't beat teams like Prior Lake they will not make it anywhere. And after that rough loss they got Edina today... have fun!!!!
Big upset? Do you really think Jefferson is that good. It's only going to get worse for Jefferson but then again let's not forget how they destroyed Hastings 2-1. Just a reminder that A.V. struggled with them and squeaked out 7-0 win.
It's interesting that "PL had a good gameplan" against BJ. The coach of PL played a season for DS at BJ in the 1990s. Student beats teacher this time. PL made some noise last year too by making section finals.
Apple Valley's water is filled with a solid youth club. It produces good HS teams but not many state cup winners.
I think your on to something with the youth club opinion. I'm not sure if they care all that much about the State Cup as much as a Bangu program. Bangu has to have something to draw the kids in and justify why it cost so much to play in that program. Starting to see push back with players going elsewhere. Evident with the St. Croix Program. Your thoughts 1:34pm
2:01 you just can't get over Bangu's success. It does not cost more to play for Bangu than other teams with similar training and travel plans. The highest paid coach I ever heard of was 13K for a Maplebrook U17 boys team. The next highest was for a EP team at 12.5K.
Central beat Wayzata 2-0 in the Stillwater MN Cup but did not play Stillwater, They then lost the Championship game to Eden Prairie 1-0. They have good team and will beat some good teams but have shown a lack of consistancey over the past few years. What I mean by that is when they have a good regular season they lose early in the playoffs or take last year they went about .500 but made it to the section final beating the 2 and 3 seed along the way. It would be fun to see a city team put together a great year. Central will have a chance to show how good they are if they can beat some of there NC foes, Wayzata win, EP loss, and they still play Southwest, Edina, Mauhtomedi, and Maple Grove. Time will tell.
Edina- best high school team ever to play in Minnesota... I think so, so should you. Watch us kill Jefferson tonight come watch the only real talent you win find in Minnesota
you graduated all six of the players on your varsity golf team last year and no one else on the team has a good swing. But your soccer team is good. You are haveing a good start like you do every year but as soon as school gets in session you guys seem to slow down a bit. I think its a bit of that Edina softness, once you have to put in a full days work you are to soft to to play sports. Plus its got to be a little disheartning to know that even if you win the state tourney no one will care, everyone in Edina only cares about Budish and the real atheletes.
Bangu success boys or girls. I'm not sure we play the games for the State Cup. If Bangu really wants to impress anyone other then themselves do something at Regions. Does not cost more than other programs...please. You must of been the recipient of a scholarship. Ask any parent of the program and there growing tired of paying for other players. Many times these players have the means. Get your head out of the sand.
If we placed the goals on the touch-lines instead of the end-lines, your Edina squad would be the best I have ever seen. Unfortunately, the game does require you to go to goal once in a while in order to win, to say nothing of entertaining anyone dumb enough to watch your team play. I'm sleepy from the experience.
I hate Edina (who doesn't?), but let's not hate on Edina on here. They consistently have some pretty good soccer teams in their club and high school. Especially considering what they're up against and compared to. (And was Bangu originally based out of Edina back in 1990?)
All I hear about on this blog is how Edina HS doesn't go to goal; Bangu U17 can't attack with the nations best; Augsburg doesn't have a pure goal scorer.
I hope the people who bash these offensively challenged teams can themselves score goals like me. Face it Minnesota, goal scorers are a rare breed in this part of the country and this part of the world. You're blessed to have your Caroline Smiths and Sasha Gotsmanovs.
The US as a whole, from California to New Jersey, struggles with scoring goals. No need to hate on the huckey players from Minniesoeta for not knowing how to put the football in the old onion bag.
The information is completely accurate and correct. If you know of Bangu coaches who were paid more, state their salary. If you know of a team with similar winter training quantity and similar winter tournament, MRL and summer tournament activity that costs less, then state the team and the lesser cost.
Please, if you have facts that support your case...enlighten us all.
maradona has no idea what hes talking about...we all know your not maradona...the joke is over...how can bangu not attack with the nations best? They have talent at every position, and have goal scorers at most of those positions.
Maradona didn't say Bangu can't score. He's only reiterating what he has been reading on this blog.
I tend to agree with him. Generally speaking, Minnesota players struggle in the attack. There is no need to mention that Edina High "doesn't go to goal."
No, Osseo over Mpls South, not Southwest. South's goalie is awful this year. Even with a decent defense in front of him. Any shot on goal is probably in.
South lost to Jefferson? And Osseo? 2 very mediocre suburban teams. I heard some scuttle about their coach recently that leads me to believe with their results so far their season is over.
Jefferson goes down to Edina in from what I saw a pretty one sided match. With Jefferson playing bunker soccer and playing for a tie. I hear there is a real lack of skilled players after this group of 11 & 12 graders. I guess it is see ya DS after this year.
one sided match...what game were you watching, people never give the lower ranked team credit for putting up a good fight against a really good team, i dont think jefferson was playing for the tie thats not dans style.
Playing for the tie when Jefferson had 3 forwards and 3 in the back. Whoever said that (SD+RA) was lucky with that victory and it won't happen in Sections.
Anoka 2. Eden Prairie 3. Apple Valley 4. Wayzata 5. St. Louis Park 6. Edina 7. Champlin Park 8. Minneapolis South 9. Stillwater Area 10. White Bear Lake Others: Lakeville North, Maple Grove, Hill-Murray, Woodbury, Hopkins
Back to Top This was on the High School league site--sorry if was already posted here I did not have time to scroll back too far. High school soccer is a blast to watch and follow. This should be a fun year!
how bout that team from burnsville? they beat maple grove who is supposed to be amazing. Taylor Hagen for sure should be in the running for mr.soccer. he leads that team and dominates his opponents
Taylor Hagen? WhAT grade? What summer team? I have never heard of this kid and burnsville was not that good last year even when they had Ahmed Gilbana their is no way this kid is better than him.
Central is an interesting team I have gone to watch them a few times now. They are very good but can play very lazy at times. They played Southwest on Thursday and looked sloppy and lazy for most the game, at one point Centrals coach took all 10 starters off and put in the second crew at that point Central kept the ball in Southwest half for about 20 minutes and had many oppurtunities. It was a strange game, Southwest looked Ok but did not have many good players they basicaly out hustled a lazy looking Central squad and scored a goal from 40yrds out. Then I went to Edina and watched Central last night, it was a great game both teams played all out from the start and it was non stop box to box Edina scored first when a deflected shot ended up on a Edina forwards foot and he quickley finished. Central scored a goal in the second half when they worked some nice passing on the right flank that found one of there players open in the box, he then chipped the keeper. In over time Central missed the best chance from 6 yrds out the shot went right at the keep. It looks like Central can beat or at least play with anyone when the whole team shows up to play. Edina is in playoff form already and looked very strong they seem to be beating good teams without being chalenged to much.
the prior lake valley score is misleading, valley was up 3-0 15 min. in and then the refs turned ridiculous, valley got nothing got things that were fouls on PL called against them, and valley needs to play the sophomore in goal the senior is terrible, gives up bad goals, sophomore is valley premier goalie
Now that a handful of games are in the books and the start of conference play is just around the corner, how do you all see the conferences wrapping up? Any change from earlier this summer before the season started? Any suprises early on?
For Central to get a tie against Edina is impressive. Edina is a special team. Where was that game played? If at Braemar, all the more impressive by Central. If at Central, that might be a bit of a leveler in Central's favor (given the artificial turf). In any event, two obviously strong teams. Very cool.
He may only have 3 goals against but Scanlon has his better goalie on the bench. By seasons end the Sophomore will be in the net for the sections for valley. We will just wait and see how this one plays out.
All of you getting after Jefferson is funny. They are 2-2 and never sub. DS is developing his players by playing them big minutes. He told my son he could not come off because he was tired. I like the fact that players have to play the entire game. No Gilmer for the Jags in the first 4 games. He is the best player on that team.
I can't believe how many of you talk trash about DS. do you know him? Ask the kids, women, and men who have played for him. I am one of them and he is the best coach I have ever played for in any sport. The players have the most respect for him, he is very well educated, has had great success, and helps his players so much with college and academics. He has a couple of characterictics; his teams win, they play with class, and the love him to death. I know this from first hand experience. Even better ask his peers multiple coach of the year awards, a huge teaching honor, and Bloomington gave him an AD job without a degree in leadership and then he took two years off to go get his 2nd masters and you people hammer him. I hope my kids can play for someone like him someday.
Central and Edina played at Breamar. Nobody on her has said Osseo is a bad team in fact I think most would agree they are at least a top 10 with great potential to keep climbing, but dont try and count scrimages as wins they are not anywhere close to real games and 4-3 is NOT a dominant win, it is a win over a good team and thats it.
11:57pm ..."He may only have 3 goals against...The better goalie is on the bench". Sorry to take the wind out of your sails with some stats. I think Scanlon is purposely keeping all is better players on the bench for sections, to suprise everyone.
Here's my top 10 for week 9/1: 1. Apply Valley 2. Edina 3. Eden Prairie 4. St.Louis Park 5. Stillwater 6. Prior Lake 7. Bloomington Jefferson 8. Osseo 9. Blake 10. Wayzata
New in list: Prior Lake, Osseo, Wayzata.
Dropped from list: Anoka, Champlin Park, Woodbury.
First of all i dont know why you guys are so crazy over bloomington jefferson. they are not that good. they may have individual players who play for good club teams it doesnt mean they can change the whole varsity team around. accordingly to the blogs Matt Hibbs is supposed to be a key player and yes he is but he's going to need some help for him to be that "key" player. and me xman valley should not be number one. they should be a top 10 but not number 1. burnsville should be a top 10. they had struggled against hopkins but look at how they tied Prior Lake and Beat supposely "amazing" maple grove. Thats a team that did not give up and played hard and came back with 3 minutes left in game. yes i saw that game. also lakeville north is doing pretty well. they have played useful teams but when the conference games come up they will probably be good as well yes they loss there goalie and couple key players but they still have some great players who had played together for club and know how to play with eachother. it doesnt matter if they werent premier or they played with a c2-c3 team. they will do pretty good as well this year. and 31/8/08 12:19 burnsville did decent last year i dont know what your talking about. Ahmed Gobana was a good player but he just didn't have the players to feed him the ball occasionally. and Taylor Hagen is Doing really well. hes not a plyer you all know but he can control the midfield and play with a good constant game pace. His little brother also can control the midfield with him. those two are good at controlling the midfield. they also have fast outside mids Nate Graden and Andy Phimmavong. Again Not players you all know but i went to go watch when they played Maple Grove with my son and they are doing great with speed and defense and skill. but Maple Grove should have never gave up. but i say Lakeville North and Burnsville and Eden Prarie Will do Great for Lake Conference. My guess the top 3 teams and my top 10 i think is
Here's my top 10 for week 9/1: 1. Eden Prarie 2. Wayzata 3. Edina 4. Lakeville North 5. Apple Valley 6. Burnsville 7. Blake 8. Osseo 9. Hopkins 10. Minneapolis South
this week will show how good burnsville actually is. They play lakeville north at home on tuesday and play at jefferson on thursday. What could hurt burnsville is their very young back line (3 juniors and a sophmore) and a week left back.
yeah we will see. overall i think burnsville is going to be a good team this year and we will see what happens. left back SUCKS! he shouldn't even start. im sorry for whoever you are but you cannot defend worth crap. they just need to build up there defense and i say they could be a very good team this year.
Matt Hibbs is not necessarily the key player for Jefferson when they also have two other players from the u17 bangu squad who will be playing thunder next year, unlike Hibbs. Not to mention several talented juniors from wings and valley.
I don't know how to put it more eloquently but the Head Coach doesn't know soccer strategy or know how to implement his system with his players. Apple Valley has better Head Coach IMO.
Wayzata is struggling and has better coaching staff. They should be in top 10 but not that #2 you have.
Lakeville North has not played against tough metro opponents and still in dreamland with easy victories. Case in point is Andover with 5-0 record.
Burnsville and Hopkins have a case here to be in top 10.
Another team to watch for is Forest Lake. Aaron Tilsen is a good coach and know how to implement his system. They recently beat Stillwater 3-0. Check Aaron's coaching record here.
Funny you say DS will burn them out they had the weekend off becasue he was in Miami coaching the Thunder. If I know Danny they only train for 90 minutes. Whoever posted this does not know what they are talking about. Plus i looked up the Jefferson schedule and they only had one scrimmage and 17 games. Under the number of allowed games. So why do you think burnout for the Jefferson team?
Coaches poll is out... Class AA Boys Poll Week of September 1, 2008
1. Apple Valley 2. Edina 3. Eden Prairie 4. St. Louis Park 5. Osseo 6. Stillwater 7. Anoka 8. Coon Rapids 10. Champlin Park (tie) 10. Wayzata (tie) Others: St. Paul Central, Maple Grove, Robbinsdale Armstrong, Minneapolis Southwest, Hopkins
o Anoka. It's still in top 10. They can't beat Monticello or Forest Lake. o Coon Rapids. Beat up on weaker team. I agree on putting Andover along side with it. o Champlin Park. Played one game and riding on vapor air of Welton Mah...pfleese o Maple Grove. pfleese...
o Prior Lake. Should take Anoka place. Not in top 10 and not even mentioned. This team got no respect. They should attention. o Burnsville. Should take Coon Rapids place. o Hopkins. Should take Champlin Park place.
Why these polls are different but come from one source?
Published on Startribune website. 1 (3) Apple Valley (5-0) 2 (6) Edina (5-0) 3 (2) Eden Prairie (1-0) 4 (5) St. Louis Park (2-0) 5 (NR) Osseo (3-0) 6 (9) Stillwater Area (2-1) 7 (1) Anoka (1-0) 8 (NR) Coon Rapids (4-0) 9 (NR) Lakeville North (5-0) <--- Not in MN HS Coaches ranking 10 (7) Champlin Park 10 (4) Wayzata (1-1) Others receiving votes: St. Paul Central, Maple Grove, Robbinsdale Armstrong, Minneapolis Southwest, Hopkins

If Armstrong can survive this week with this schedule, they should be in top 3. 9/2 Tue - Hopkins (mentioned in ranking) 9/3 Wed - Eden Prairie (#3) 9/4 Thu - Edina (#2) 9/6 Sat - Osseo (#5)
I hope they have a deep bench and withstand the onslaughts. Oh man I feel for the boys.
You can carry me out on a stretcher after 80 minutes and I'm fit...
Lakeville North is for real. More speed than last year and scoring from several. No repeat of conference championship, however very week section get's them in the State Tournament unless coaching gets in the way.
2:08pm - I think this week should clear up who the Lake Conference front runners could be. Eagan at Valley will determine if A.V. is for real. Not sure if Lakeville N. matchup against B'vlle will tell us anything. The conference is down across the board and with that said, coaching will be an x factor here. Scanlon has his boys excited about tradition. I would have to say A.V., E.P., Lakeville N. are the only real contenders for the prize. E.P., A.V., L.N., Eagan. I know I'm not going out on a limb here, but this is how I see it playing out. Your thoughts 2:08 pm?
3:05pm Actually speaking to Lake Conference Champions...not State Champs. However, anyone who knows anything about soccer knows the lake is the toughest in the State. Hard not to love the lake and the history. Many champions have been crowned from that conference, and that's a fact. Nothing against Anoka, but they certainly aren't playing like defending champions.
Agreed 3:46 Should have also included Classic, hard not to love both lakes. You might be right on E.P. Nice post BTW. It's refreshing to have someone not let the teen spirit get in the way of reality.
Eden prairie will not win the state tournament, and will be lucky if they win the conference. Many premier players on the team, but have trouble finishing goals and the goalie will be less than stellar.
burnsville 0 lakeville north 2. that was a solid game but north came up on top and had the strength to beat burnsville. that was a good game though. burnsville just fell down after the first goal. i'm a lakeville resident and that was a game to watch. this is going to be a good season.
Was at Lakeville North versus Burnsville tonight too. North controlled for about 70% of the game but gave up some big opportunities late in the game. Burnsville keeper allowed one soft goal early and the team didn't play very well after that. Not certain if this answers any questions about North being top tier though they were fun to watch.
What a joke. As I posted up above on 27/08/08, "goal scorers are a rare breed in MN." EP probably has the deepest and most solid roster in the state. You are correct EP Fan. EP plays very boring football and lacks creativity and flare. That's typical MN football, particularly high school football. EP isn't the only team that has trouble finishing. There are probably only 5 players in each grade that have creative, goal scoring ability, and that's being generous.
You don't need to go on a rant now saying MN players are creative. The reality is that they aren't. The white boys in the Lake particularly play boring football. But when you get EP playing AV, somebody has to score. It will most likely come off of a corner kick and scrum in the box.
Mama Mia is correct. EP will likely win Lake. Health is always a factor. A couple coaches have the ability to alter things.
..."E.P. playing A.V., somebody has to score". Wow Diego, I can't wait to here what you have to say next about the white boys from the lake. We're all on the edge of our seat to hear about how you played the game.
Lake Conference I wouldn't put whoever wins the Lake Conference will win State Tournament. Take a look at Lakeville North last year. Won the conference but choked on a bone at State. Yes, Coach can get out-coached and lose the game. My prediction is for Apple Valley to take conference title this year.
I agree that Lake and Classic Lake conferences have tough metro teams and dominated MN HS soccer scene for many years. Don't say it because they have better players. I would attribute to better organization, money, and coaching.
Anoka Head Coach Pete Hayes should have been kicked out long ago but he's still hanging on there. Doesn't have a clue on how to kick the ball lest game strategy. They won not because of Pete but bunch of kids played together for a long time and on Premier team coached by Bill Casey at Northern Lights SC.
FYI - Lakeville North lost in sections. Have you seen Apple Valley play? I'm assuming you have if you predict the lake for them. Have you seen any other teams play in the lake. What else does the crystal ball say? Pete Hayes won a state tournmanent. How many have you won?
I can still juggle raisins. And I can score with my hand. Creativity.
I'm just regurgitating what has been said on this blog. Bloggers have said the following mens teams are challenged offensively:
- Bangu U17 - Edina HS - Augsburg - Eden Prairie HS
It's weird that all those teams are top level teams within their leagues this year. So is it that every top level team can't score goals? How can that be?
My point is, every mens team in MN can't score goals. There is no need to state the obvious about the top level teams. I don't think EP will have too much trouble outscoring their opponents this year.
Fair enough xman. How many games have you coached? I'm just trying understand if you have an credibility or if you have any clue on how difficult it is to win a state tournament.
Just say I know enough to be dangerous. Read my post and decide for yourself.

I wonder if Coon Rapids will give a tough game this year. I don't think they lost much last year from a mid-pack team. I'm sure Osseo will rock'n roll until they actually have to play like a team in October. That always gets 'em.
Anonymous said... xman...a lot of game scores. Is that what makes you dangerous? I want to give you a chance, but you continue to state the obvious. 3/9/08 10:26 AM
you've got to love the "me xman"...through out harsh comments and then when someone calls him on them all he can say is "pfleese...move on..." a stirring defense to back up his statements. anyone can lob out a bomb, just be careful that some of the shrapnel doesn't hit the thrower.....
Calling me on what? Defensive for what? Anoka? Do you know Bill Casey? Go and talk to him about Pete and see what he has to say. What a joke...pfleese...move on...

Anyone think BJ has a shot to make a run this season? I feel that they recieved little to no credit for a great game vs. Edina. The Prior Lake game I'm not so sure about.
Can somebody name some talent on the Jefferson team? I'm really not sure on names/summer teams..do they have enough premier players to even compete with the boys in AV and EP?
To win state you either need a superstar or two with a willing supporting cast (which BJ does not have) or you need 11 guys who know their role and execute consistently even when it means sacrificing the opportunity to be in the limelight. BJ current liability is the midfield which is not making things happen offensively and sometimes is a liability defensively. Dribbling around in circles and holding the ball while the opponent recovers is not the way to win state or even finish above 0.500
Wayne Harrison has done well with those EP boys in their summer Premier team. Wayne is a great coach and hard-driven guy. He has published books on coaching. I've learned a lot from this dude.
Alex Hidy is not tall but one hardnosed bulldozer and has short bust of speed and can outhustled most defenders. He's doing well so far.
EP maybe not playing pretty and fancy soccer but they get the job done.
Anonymous said... yep 3 0 EP,just a bit better all around. 3/9/08 9:14 PM
Top 10 in action tonight 1. Apple Valley (home 5pm vs Eastview) 2. Edina (7pm home vs Armstrong) 3. Eden Prairie (off) 4. St. Louis Park (5pm away at St.Francis) 5. Osseo (5pm home vs Park Center) 6. Stillwater (7pm away at Woodbury) 7. Anoka (5pm home vs Elk River) 8. Coon Rapids (4pm away at Cretin-Derham Hall) 9. Lakeville North (5pm away at Rosemount) 10. Champlin Park (5pm away at Centennial) 10. Wayzata (off)
Games to watch Elk River vs. Anoka | 5:00 PM at Anoka Stillwater Area vs. Woodbury | 7:00 PM at Woodbury Burnsville vs. Bloomington Jefferson | 5:00 PM at Bloomington Jefferson Hopkins vs. Minnetonka | 5:00 PM at Minnetonka Any other interesting games to watch?
You really should give Jefferson credit for a good game against Edina. As I saw it, it was an even match in which Jefferson had more opportunities and more chances than Edina. So Edina got one break and one goal...does that mean that they possessed the ball 85% of the time?
I went to see why people have been talking about Jefferson so much. So i went to the Burnsville game tonight and see way to much talent improperly used. They tied a not so very good team, but the only way this team will go far is if they change their formations, change some players, and find the back of the net more often. I believe that all of these could be changed in 1 practice and is hoping Danny changes the game plan up. Just for the kids sake
Whitney is straight up the sickest player I have ever seen...a good buddy of mine....did someone comment a little earlier saying that everytime they play against Whitney he doesnt do anything? thats weird leading goal scorer in the state.....
So what you're saying? It's not a big deal? You're must from Edina? Beat Cake-Eaters in their home is huge. Armstrong kids probably partying down as we speak. Congrats to Armstrong. 2-1 record for tough week so far. Next up is Osseo. Should be a barnburner.
Anonymous said... many 4 2 games could of been 2 4. School soccer, not the world cup.
Can you give more detailed game summary? Any games can be categorized into "could have been" but the bottom line is the score. I would like to know what worked and what didn't. TIA.
Jefferson drew with B-ville tonight, and the game was even...my first chance to see either team. BJ looked dangerous on set-pieces but did little else. B-ville looks like they lack punch, but they knocked a ball off of the post with three minutes left, and came very close on a couple of other counters. B-ville is not a top team (just ok) and BJ is not top ten (not close).
Whitney Browne seems to have a lot of goals...but against who? Anybody in the top ten? (Spring Lake Park, Rochester Century, Century, Hopkins, Minneapolis South, Park Center). Don't get me wrong, nice accomplishment so far for this young man. Let's wait to see what happens when he actually starts playing somebody. Look around,he isn't the only game in town. There are a few other players out there that are just as "sick".
Edina completely dominated in first half and was ahead 2-0. Second half, Armstrong came out ready to maim, literally. Center ref totally lost control but finally had no choice but to red card #13, who took an edina mid fielder out of the game.
Although Edina goalie made some huge judgement errors, the truth is that Armstrong boys were thugs and went to an ugly game of taking out the player instead of the ball. It was nasty and an embarrassment to the game.
I like physical, aggressive play, and think many of these refs can get whistle happy. But this referee really let it get dirty rough. How many times did boys go up for headers and get whacked or pushed (over) from behind? Armstrong boys probably have turf burn all over their legs and butts today as they slide tackled and knocked kids (no the ball) down left and right. This was aggressive, cheap shot soccer and I would have been embarrassed to be an Armstrong parent, who were polite fans.
I don't see anyone else scoring that many goals against Hopkins, South, etc. Whitney already has postseason accolades in the bag with 14 goals. Those are impressive numbers against anyone.
Football can get rough, but I've never seen anything out-of-control dirty at this level. Go watch some USL or St. Johns games and you'll probably have a new perspective on dirty. If that's what it takes to score 4 goals, a man down, in one half against a top team, maybe the Armstrong boys figured something out? Very rarely do I see players around here play with the intensity and aggressiveness necessary to be good. I hope Armstrong can keep that up and run the table.
8:21 Soccer is rough. I didn't see the game, but soccer is rough and physical. I don't always like it, and it can get out of hand, but that's the fact. Armstrong figured out how to rattle Edina. I've had the same thing done to my team by AV. We were better and they won. That's the goal, right?
Mama Mia sorry to tug at your heart strings. Do you think the majority of the people reading this blog cares about ODP. Did he do much at the state cup? Don't recall seeing him there. What team did he play for. Being a fan of the game i think he would of stood out at that venue. That's what Mn saw., not the region camp.
Not sure any U16 individuals stood out at last year's State Cup because the teams are so even with the talent so spread out. If the majority of the people on this blog don't know what happens at ODP Region Camp, that's the problem with this blog. He played for U16 Wings.
I don't have heart strings, but he his a pretty decent player and 14 goals in 5 games is better than most players.
Whitney Browne I don't think people are hyping him up here at all. Just state the facts that he scored 14 goals in 5 games and give accolades. I'd like to see the posts that hyping him up. Whitney's summer Wings team got relegated from Premier so in fact he's not one-man show. You have to look at how he's scored those goals. He's no Teal Bunburry and Chris Sutton.
Armstrong Which Armstrong player got red-card? Soccer is physical game but it has a level. If the Ref is used to USL physical and hackers game then God helps the kids. Would Armstrong Coach Kent Getchell stoop this low for a win? Or maybe the physical level is normal for HS that Edina people not used to.
Sitting from the sidelines again not knowing much about soccer, wasn't the orginal point about going against better defenders. I'm confused about your analyis of the state cup.."nowbody stood out because the talent was spread out". I do agree he is an excellent player with 14 goals in five games and I think we got sidetracked on who knows more about the game. It obvious to me you know more because of your knowledge of the ODP Region Camp.

Whitney is a great player there is no doubt about that, but he is exploiting poor defenses and a system of play that plays into him, I would be willing to bet in the last 2 years he hasn't scored more than 15 goals for the wings, who were relegated from premier this summer, he deserves the accolades as a great player, but the stats are a pretty inflated, good luck to him and osseo the rest of the year, but we will see exactly how good both of them are if they get a chance to play any of the big boys in sections or state because they arent playing them in the regular season
Cretin is weak but got a 3-0 win over Coon Rapids. Yet it was posted that Coon Rapids will have a staunch defense to play against. Huh?
At last year's U16 State Cup, there were many good teams with many good players. If you don't really know what you're looking at, some of the top players could blend into the mix because the teams could neutralize each other. Whitney has been a top player on that Wings team and in MN ODP for a number of years now.
This is just like how Bunbury blended into the mix last weekend on TV while playing for Akron. He got a lot of playing time, but didn't stand out.

Can you elaborate on this? Which upsets? Armstrong over Edina? I guess it was a "brutal" game from some comments here.
Coon Rapids and Champlin Park deservedly get whoopped. No upsets there. Woodbury was ranked before so they're able playing high competitive game and beat out Stillwater.
I have Apple Valley giving Lakeville North a whoopping. I'm looking to see this game if I can.

«Oldest ‹Older 401 – 600 of 1557 Newer› Newest»Soccer is the fifth-most popular sport for boys and girls at the high school level.
9:35 - Go to the home page - About a third of the way down on the right hand side you will see coaches poll - I am not sure how often it is updated -
Does anyone know when the Star Tribune article will come out?
White Bear Lake will be a sleeper they beat Champlin 4-2 in a scrimmage and beat Hill Murray 2-0 they play woodbury this week also.... keep an eye on them
WBL also lost to Coon Rapids 4-0, so they need to step it up a little if they're going to be a sleeper
Anoka 0 Monticello 0
Anoka will drop out of the rankings very soon.
I know that anoka is not as good as they were last year but the seniors on monticello are the same guys who were in the premier league two years ago. So that score is not a big shocker or an indication that anoka is in trouble.
the same players that got the holy crap kicked out of them at premier level...but to be fair this is HS now
Edina Vs Jefferson... on Wednesday anyone got any predictions?
edina 3-0
Monticello did not succeed at Preimer but had competive matches with everyone except Eden Prairie losing 1 goal matches for the most part....
Prediction? D.S. and company get knocked out of the Top 10 poll.
Who is D.S. and company?
11:27am - Jefferson
How do you get knocked out of Top 10 when you aren't even in the top ten?
1. Anoka

6. Edina
7. Champlin Park
8. Minneapolis South
9. Stillwater Area
10. White Bear Lake
Some of you folks need to chill out a bit.
The Trib put them in the top ten teams in their preview(ranking said to be compiled by a staff writer)...that is probably what was being referred to
Here it is:
BOYS

Polls are meaningless, whether it's by the coaches, the STrib Staff writers or me.
The STrib poll provides some good comedy though.
EP is certainly the strongest team on paper. Again, meaningless.
They probably will at least double their wins this year!!! Those Jaguars that are on JV have had a fun time with this blog. Jefferson is trash.
TOP 5 PLAYERS
Dula Fields, Minneapolis South, senior: The midfielder led the Tigers in scoring in 2007.
Jefferson/Prior lake? Ouch.
I'd say Coon Rapids could be tough. Anoka? Probably not. Hill Murray? Nope. Wayzata? Nope. Edina and SLP? To soon to tell. champlin? Yes. Osseo? Yes and no. Just like always.
MG 1- Hill Murray 0
Carl Gilbertson??
I love it when teams actually start playing so people shut up about their (kids?) teams.
I'd say Hill Murray is not going to happen. (Lost to a mediocre Maple Grove team--does MG even have their star keeper back yet?).
Jefferson lost to Prior Lake? That's rough.
Where are the Jefferson folks today?
Big upset Prior Lake 3 BJ 1. PL had a great game plan while Jeff looked confused and frustrated at times.Jeff is too good to lose to a team like Pl but the season is just starting.
Actually I think most of the Jefferson "folks" are getting ready to go back to school (and sleeping in after playing last night).
Saint Paul Central beat Stillwater and lost 1-0 to Edina in Stillwater Cup.
Central...interesting.
Valley dishes out another pounding, 7-0 over Blaine last night, apparently a team of premier underclassmen can destroy teams of C1 seniors
Apple Valley...what's in the water?
Not care about state cup? From a competitive standpoint, isn't state cup why we play the games?
201, St. Croix got Bangu (MTA) leftovers. In the east St. Croix is the club you go to if you are looking for a club and you don't make a Bangu team.
4:14 we are not talking golf
I know i am on both teams and i would say we almost have state in the bag for both sports. Probably but we could get upset. It's a slight possibility
Hey 5:22
you graduated all six of the players on your varsity golf team last year and no one else on the team has a good swing.
4:14,
If we placed the goals on the touch-lines instead of the end-lines, your Edina squad would be the best I have ever seen.
You people tire me.
#10
HUH?
2:22pm - Your information is not correct - Please only post accurate information -
1:51 you are an idiot.
Osseo-4
Southwest-3
Whitney Browne with 10 goals already
11:26: Are you serious? He isn't really Maradona? My word, the joke really is over.
Wow 10 goals aready. That is more than RG and Bloomington combined...I think. He will be thrilled to be mentioned in this company!
Anoka
2. Eden Prairie
3. Apple Valley
4. Wayzata

This was on the High School league site--sorry if was already posted here I did not have time to scroll back too far. High school soccer is a blast to watch and follow. This should be a fun year!
Rising: Minneapolis Southwest, Prior Lake, Osseo
Falling: Wayzata, Hill-Murray, Stillwater(?).
Whitney is a good player and he finished well for those goals.
how bout that team from burnsville? they beat maple grove who is supposed to be amazing.
Maple Grove amazing? You must be thinking a couple years back. They are not in the running.
I'd say Prior Lake going 2-3 with Apple Valley is interesting.
And Central keeps getting decent results.
Valley beat Richfield 3 1,not exactly the A.V. of last year.
What's your top 10 for next week 9/1?
Osseo dominated Mpls Southwest and Mpls South. Check this website:
http://www.osseosoccer.com/mens
the prior lake valley score is misleading, valley was up 3-0 15 min. in and then the refs turned ridiculous, valley got nothing got things that were fouls on PL called against them, and valley needs to play the sophomore in goal the senior is terrible, gives up bad goals, sophomore is valley premier goalie
Nice, rip some poor kid playing goalie, class.Put your name on your post!
Terrible? Apple Valley goals for and against doesn't indicate this. Give us a break joe parent. Scanlon has it right.
5:38pm FYI - Apple Valley 23 Goals for/3 Against. Yeh, that goalie must be brutal.
Now that a handful of games are in the books and the start of conference play is just around the corner, how do you all see the conferences wrapping up? Any change from earlier this summer before the season started? Any suprises early on?
look at the teams valley has played. they should only have 3 goals scored on them. prior lake is the only team that is anygood
Your point?
For Central to get a tie against Edina is impressive. Edina is a special team. Where was that game played? If at Braemar, all the more impressive by Central. If at Central, that might be a bit of a leveler in Central's favor (given the artificial turf). In any event, two obviously strong teams. Very cool.
Osseo beat south 4-3 hardley dominant, and they never played Southwest.
You should have watched the game. Don't spout when you didn't watch it. They made Dula looked like 10yo and they owned midfield.
Osseo dominated Mpls SW at Blaine scrimmage. Butt whooping. I watched it.
Edina is a good team with many on Premier team. EP and AV the same.
BTW, Osseo went up 4-1 and the coach cleared the bench and that's when South scored 2 near the end.
How could Whitney scored 10 goals already? Got any ideas?
I hope my kids can play for someone like him someday.
a former player
Central and Edina played at Breamar.
Nobody on her has said Osseo is a bad team in fact I think most would agree they are at least a top 10 with great potential to keep climbing, but dont try and count scrimages as wins they are not anywhere close to real games and 4-3 is NOT a dominant win, it is a win over a good team and thats it.
11:57pm ..."He may only have 3 goals against...The better goalie is on the bench". Sorry to take the wind out of your sails with some stats. I think Scanlon is purposely keeping all is better players on the bench for sections, to suprise everyone.
I hope Scanlon strategy works in the end and those better players sitting on the bench not getting rusted.
1/9/08 10:00 am- that is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.

I feel for Armstrong kids next week. Armstrong schedule. Three straight tough games in three days: Hopkins, EP, Edina. What was the coach thinking?
Here's my top 10 for week 9/1:
1. Apply Valley
2. Edina
3. Eden Prairie
4. St.Louis Park
5. Stillwater
6. Prior Lake
7. Bloomington Jefferson
8. Osseo
9. Blake
10. Wayzata
New in list: Prior Lake, Osseo, Wayzata.
Dropped from list: Anoka, Champlin Park, Woodbury.
Surprised to see Mpls SW tied 0-0 Roseville. Mpls SW good? Don't think so.
Anoka...LOL!!! The coach should retired. Please give it up man as he doesn't know how to coach the boys.
My guess the top 3 teams and my top 10 i think is
Here's my top 10 for week 9/1:
1. Eden Prarie
2. Wayzata
3. Edina
4. Lakeville North
5. Apple Valley
6. Burnsville
7. Blake
8. Osseo
9. Hopkins
10. Minneapolis South
thats my top 10 and this is just me.

Central lost 1-0 to EP, beat Wayzata 2-0, and tied Edina 1-1. Where are the in your top ten?
this week will show how good burnsville actually is.
Mpls South. I wouldn't have it in top 10. They lost two tough games against Jefferson and Osseo. Mpls Southwest should rank above South IMO.
A good Jefferson team will go into the tank by year end because DS will burn them out.
Class AA Boys Poll
Week of September 1, 2008
1. Apple Valley
2. Edina
3. Eden Prairie
4. St. Louis Park
5. Osseo
6. Stillwater
7. Anoka
8. Coon Rapids
10. Champlin Park (tie)
10. Wayzata (tie)
Others: St. Paul Central, Maple Grove, Robbinsdale Armstrong, Minneapolis Southwest, Hopkins
Why don't they also put Andover (5-0) with Coon Rapids. Didn't play tough metro teams and get ranked? What do most HS coaches know?
Andover recently won as game against Zimmerman in overtime 5-4 when they were down 4-0 at half.
About the new poll. A few surprises for me:
o Anoka. It's still in top 10. They can't beat Monticello or Forest Lake.
o Coon Rapids. Beat up on weaker team. I agree on putting Andover along side with it.
o Champlin Park. Played one game and riding on vapor air of Welton Mah...pfleese
o Maple Grove. pfleese...
o Prior Lake. Should take Anoka place. Not in top 10 and not even mentioned. This team got no respect. They should attention.
o Burnsville. Should take Coon Rapids place.
o Hopkins. Should take Champlin Park place.
Why these polls are different but come from one source?

Your 8:01 comment was a riot! Keep writing it was almost as good as what the Strib posted last week.
Prior Lake, pfleese. LOL
A few games will tell the tale of how good is the poll tonight 9/2:
Lakeville North vs. Burnsville | 7:00 PM at Burnsville
We'll if Lakeville North is for real. Burnsville should be ranked IMO.
Blaine vs. Coon Rapids | 7:00 PM at Coon Rapids
Is Coon Rapids blowing smoke? I have Blaine as winner.
Hopkins vs. Robbinsdale Armstrong | 7:00 PM at Robbinsdale Armstrong
Nice and tough game and could go either way.
Minnetonka vs. Wayzata | 5:00 PM at Wayzata
Here's another tough game. Classic Lake is one tough conference.
If Armstrong can survive this week with this schedule, they should be in top 3.
9/2 Tue - Hopkins (mentioned in ranking)
9/3 Wed - Eden Prairie (#3)
9/4 Thu - Edina (#2)
9/6 Sat - Osseo (#5)
I hope they have a deep bench and withstand the onslaughts.
Oh man I feel for the boys.
You can carry me out on a stretcher after 80 minutes and I'm fit...
Lakeville North is for real. More speed than last year and scoring from several. No repeat of conference championship, however very week section get's them in the State Tournament unless coaching gets in the way.
Who is Lakeville North's coach anyway?
Early Prediction - Winner of the Lake Conference will be our 2008 State Champion. Any thoughts?
That's what everyone here said last year. Anoka? Never mentioned.
Lots of Lake lovers here.
Last 11 years:
Classic Lake: 5 State Champs
Lake: 5 State Champs
I don't think you can say the Lake is clearly better than the Classic Lake. It is clear that those two conferences have dominated MN soccer.
EP should win the Lake. There are a lot of contenders, however. Coaching and health could play a big factor.
Not certain if this answers any questions about North being top tier though they were fun to watch.
valley beats eagan 1-0 tonight in a very good game, eagan is a very solid team and gave valley a good game, but valley come out on top
And it continues...
EP Fan says "EP has trouble finishing goals."
Diego
..."E.P. playing A.V., somebody has to score". Wow Diego, I can't wait to here what you have to say next about the white boys from the lake. We're all on the edge of our seat to hear about how you played the game.
Let's see what happened last night.
Lakeville North 2-0 Burnsville
Blaine 0-2 Coon Rapids
Poll is good. Interesting...
Hopkins 0-1 Robbinsdale Armstrong
Minnetonka 0-0 Wayzata
Tough games...
Armstrong won 1-0 over Hopkins and has EP tonight. However EP won 3-1 over Chaska last night. We'll see if Armstrong can withstand the onslaughts.
Lake Conference
I wouldn't put whoever wins the Lake Conference will win State Tournament.
Anoka
Head Coach Pete Hayes should have been kicked out long ago but he's still hanging on there.
Diego, could you please tell us that story again how you could juggle raisins when you we're a little boy.
Apple Valley beat Eagan 1-0
The Eden Prairie vs. Apple Valley game is going to be a good one.
I can still juggle raisins. And I can score with my hand. Creativity.
I'm just regurgitating what has been said on this blog. Bloggers have said the following mens teams are challenged offensively:
- Bangu U17
- Edina HS
- Augsburg
- Eden Prairie HS
It's weird that all those teams are top level teams within their leagues this year. So is it that every top level team can't score goals? How can that be?
My point is, every mens team in MN can't score goals. There is no need to state the obvious about the top level teams. I don't think EP will have too much trouble outscoring their opponents this year.
#10
I have none but that doesn't mean I can't speak the truth...pfleese move on...

Yes it will be a tough match. AV has better coaching so AV should win.

#10 How many times do you score with your hand during the day?
Fair enough xman. How many games have you coached? I'm just trying understand if you have an credibility or if you have any clue on how difficult it is to win a state tournament.
Just say I know enough to be dangerous. Read my post and decide for yourself.

xman...a lot of game scores. Is that what makes you dangerous? I want to give you a chance, but you continue to state the obvious.
I wonder if Coon Rapids will give a tough game this year. I don't think they lost much last year from a mid-pack team. I'm sure Osseo will rock'n roll until they actually have to play like a team in October. That always gets 'em.
LOL! pfleese...move on...

you've got to love the "me xman"...through out harsh comments and then when someone calls him on them all he can say is "pfleese...move on..." a stirring defense to back up his statements. anyone can lob out a bomb, just be careful that some of the shrapnel doesn't hit the thrower.....
12:01pm Very wise grasshopper. Just waiting for the assman to snatch the pebble from my hand.
Calling me on what? Defensive for what? Anoka? Do you know Bill Casey? Go and talk to him about Pete and see what he has to say. What a joke...pfleese...move on...

Can you two or three take it offline? Enough with personal attacks.
1:11pm, or four or five. Where have the personal attacks come from other than the xman? Aren't you a little curious who Bill Casey is?
Anyone think BJ has a shot to make a run this season? I feel that they recieved little to no credit for a great game vs. Edina. The Prior Lake game I'm not so sure about.
Jefferson has a good Coach and I'm sure the boys will do well.
The BJ boys need to stop trying to be "the man" and buy into the team concept; otherwise they'll be the biggest waste of talent since 2005.
Anyone got the score for Amrstrong vs Eden Prairie tonight.
yep 3 0 EP,just a bit better all around.
7:08 What does it mean to be the man? I am on the team and I want to know what we have to do to win state.
Can somebody name some talent on the Jefferson team? I'm really not sure on names/summer teams..do they have enough premier players to even compete with the boys in AV and EP?
How is anyone on BJ trying to be "the man" while Edina possessed the ball for 85% of the match? Can you be "the man" while chasing?

Wayne did not coach the EP U 17's this summer. I do not know for sure about last year
6:35am...me xman not always in the loop. Can't wait for his scores to be published tomorrow.
EP boys premier players.
Wayne H coached them the summers of 05-07
Tomass coached them this past summer of 08
Okay one thing that Jefferson has is a midfield... Without a doubt the best midfield in state.
Amazing how the Jefferson-whores keep trying to draw attention back to their mediocre program...their midfield is top 10 at best, no way in the top 5.
Hey...how is RG and his team doing?
Osseo 6 Park Center 3
Whitney Browne scored 4 goals.
He has 14 goals in five games.
Whitney is straight up the sickest player I have ever seen...a good buddy of mine....did someone comment a little earlier saying that everytime they play against Whitney he doesnt do anything? thats weird leading goal scorer in the state.....
I forgive you...

how many did he get for da Wings this past season?
School soccer,different game,
WHAT A SHOCKER! WOW!
Robbinsdale Armstrong 4, Edina 2
Beat #2 ranked team...Wow!
Anyone got game summary for this?
Armstrong for real or Edina had a bad night?
many 4 2 games could of been 2 4.
School soccer,not the world cup.
So what you're saying?
It's not a big deal?
You're must from Edina?
Beat Cake-Eaters in their home is huge.
Armstrong kids probably partying down as we speak.
Congrats to Armstrong. 2-1 record for tough week so far. Next up is Osseo. Should be a barnburner.

just saying 2 4 could be 4 2 on another night, not from Edina.
I think your a bit of a knobed
Can you give more detailed game summary? Any games can be categorized into "could have been" but the bottom line is the score. I would like to know what worked and what didn't. TIA.
Jefferson drew with B-ville tonight, and the game was even...my first chance to see either team. BJ looked dangerous on set-pieces but did little else. B-ville looks like they lack punch, but they knocked a ball off of the post with three minutes left, and came very close on a couple of other counters. B-ville is not a top team (just ok) and BJ is not top ten (not close).
Apple Valley beats Eastview 2-0
Lakeville North beats Rosemount 3-1
how would you change the Jefferson team? I heard he made a lot of changes tonight where players played
Crappy refs happen. Deal with it.
Roger that 9:51am. It sounds like you get it. Cheers
Whitney has had success at ODP Region Camp, so I think he's earned the exposure in MN and I think he's done something against better defenders.
So yes, if you knew anything about MN football, you would know who Whitney was without somebody hyping him on this blog.
Whitney Browne
I don't think people are hyping him up here at all.
Armstrong
Which Armstrong player got red-card?
It obvious to me you know more because of your knowledge of the ODP Region Camp.
xman agree on the hype comment. Did he play for the U17 Wings. That team got relegated I believe. He is know Sutton or Bunburry that's for sure.
Whitney played for Wings U16 Premier that didn't do well this summer. He's actually younger for his senior class.

Whitney is a great player there is no doubt about that, but he is exploiting poor defenses and a system of play that plays into him, I would be willing to bet in the last 2 years he hasn't scored more than 15 goals for the wings, who were relegated from premier this summer, he deserves the accolades as a great player, but the stats are a pretty inflated, good luck to him and osseo the rest of the year, but we will see exactly how good both of them are if they get a chance to play any of the big boys in sections or state because they arent playing them in the regular season
xman what do you think of some of the mild upsets? Prediction on next weeks A.V. vs Lakeville N. at N.?
