'08 Boys State Cup

The MN state cup draw was held this past weekend and the draws are now available at the MYSA web site. There appears to be many interesting groups at many of the age levels. If the weather and fields hold up, it should be a great tournament.

The U16 bracket is the largest on the boy’s side with 16 teams. Can the MUS U14 boys repeat? Will the U16 AFC SE team be able to repeat with a change in club and roster? Or will their arch rivals BNG finally get their chance at Regionals? Will BNG’s dominance at U17 finally be broken by CDA or EDP? Will the U18 age group be dominated by Shattuck? With the U19s be a toss up like recent years?

isn't Wayne Harrison the EP U17BPR coach?

That's what the website says, so I am assuming so.

Bangu doesn't have a 18 boys team, do they?

I believe Bangu has the boys defending State Cup champs at this year's U17 and U19 but they don't have a U18 team this year.

st croix is good but not nearly as good as Monticello

"You can't come out of the closet when it's never been a secret. It's been public knowledge for anyone who was even remotely interested." Tomass 4/14/08

Guess it not public knowledge for anyone who was even remotely interested. So shhhh, they are keeping under the radar. :)

Did anyone see the release from US Soccer yesterday regarding the lineup for next year's Developmental Academy? All new clubs are quality. I was disappointed that SSM did not get in. They are designed for that type of league and environment.

I know that a leading criteria for acceptance is an area's past history in producing regional and national players. Minnesota does not fare too well in that regard. SSM is a different animal. Players can be drawn from all over the country. I believe SSM should have been given a shot...Any thoughts?

I've heard that Thungu and SSM are a lock for USSF admittance next year.
They will take 2 Minnesota teams so when teams travel to play here there will be a minimum of 2 matches.
The rich will get richer.

With USSF, I would not assume anything, nor would I consider any organization to be a "lock" for anything with that outfit.

Dang it Tomass... I had hoped you would stay in the closet long enuf to come get the dust bunnies out of mine....lol

So is that an invitation to do a closet make-over?? ;-)

hangers spaced an inch apart. dress slacks hung by the end of pant leg. ties sorted by color as are the dress shirts.

People claim I waste too much time on this site, but I think I spend way too much time ironing because the cleaners do not do a good enough job. Look out dust bunnies

No ironing of the plaid flannel shirts or t-shirts though....wrinkles have a place in my world besides on my face.

So far my vote goes with Valley United and St. Croix for U-16. For U-15 i go with Bangu again(Blackhawks has had horrible results in Midwest Division 1). For U-17 Bangu Seem to have a very strong team so they have my vote.

Looks like the Classic Lake Conference is going to disolve. They screwed up in the 90,s and now they are begging for help. Bye bye Classic Lake conference.
