Blog Administrator Wanted

It's been fun, but I am moving out of the area and will no longer have time to keep this blog up to date. If you have interest in taking over, please send me an email at mnfutbol@yahoo.com with your thoughts and ideas on what you would do with the blog (a couple of sentences will do.)

Thanks MNFutbol for trying to keep information flowing. The majority of people who comment these days do not add any value to any discussion. The blogs were fun for a while but it's time to let them go as the parents who must live their lives through their children have ruined them.

Agreed. Shut it down - please!

Thanks Mn Futbol, this has been loads of fun a very nice and most often entertaining way to see some of the biggest gas bags in Mn. soccer have their particular ox gored. You will be missed

some people clearly take the sign of 'negative' comments and threads as 'bad' and this forum should be closed. my view is opposite. the sheer fact that soccer is starting to be on the map in our communities and the level of competition has picked up to the point that people are passionately blogging is great news. the more something becomes available and visible the more comments, good and bad that come out. people have to care and things generally have to matter to people's lives to advance discussion. thanks for managing this, the content dialog is important but more importantly the general interest and the forum is the key to keeping the issues and opportunities in MN youth soccer top of mind. good luck!

anon 1054 - the discussions do not typically focus on soccer it focuses on the likes and dislikes of many parents who have one point which many of them advocate for and base their opinions on, and that is their own child.

I followed both blogs since their inception and I have not seen discussions move ahead at all. They have been redundant for the past 3 years with the same debate points rehashed.

Smurf has done a good job of trying to bring soccer points forward but still has to face the same basic barrier of parental resentment.

guys like sweeper, halfback, bangumom, ems mrs robinson (here's to you!) and the rest of you - if you are at state cup look me up and say hi. If I see a red laser point fixed on my body...... I will be the crazy guy serpentining and rolling to my car.

Let's have some discussion about how to upgrade the quality of coaching here in MN.

Sure hope someone can keep this going. Of course there has been some tangents that were in poor taste, but overall it has been an interesting Blog on MN Soccer. Thanks for the efforts to keep it up so far.

Thanks for providing the forum MnFutbol! And thanks to all the regular non- anon posters. I will miss the repartee of old timers ems and Tomass, HBJ, Mrs. Robinson, Bangu Mom, Choices are Good. Really enjoying Swedish Smurf's contributions. Hope someone steps up so I can debate the merits of HS soccer?!?! hehe!

Thanks MNFutbol. Are you heading back to Tennessee? :-)

The discussions focus as much on the likes and dislikes of the coaches as they do with the parents. Parents are advocating for their children as they should, can't stop that. Coaches mostly advocate for themselves.

Most coaches don't HAVE to coach, but parents have to parent. Some aren't as good at it as others, same as coaches. Some parents are delusional, same as coaches.

It takes all kinds of people to make the world go around, doesn't mean they have to agree with you. That is one thing what makes life interesting.
