Anyone know who is the favorites at u15b? Last chance I had to look at league results it looked like BHK, PSA, and EAG would get through to State. Anyone else look good to make it through play-offs?

Anonymous said...

PSA will run through state. Look at how they played in MRL and State Cup against premier teams.

Anonymous said...

10:54 I agree, PSA is much stronger than a normal C1 team when the brothers/cousins don't get into foul trouble.

Just curious who else will show up at State. There are two premier spots available for next years 16's

Anonymous said...

BHK may have a shot at the other spot. They were undefeated in the east, but the east was really weak. Bummer you have to win your district to go premier, as Edina (who keeps finishing second in their district) is probably the second-best U15B C1 team.

Anonymous said...

Even though they may be the "2nd best C1, they probably would not have done well in premier anyway(0 wins in MRL, 0 wins in State Cup), but why is EDI in the North anyway? Only 7 teams in East and South, 9 in North.

Have they played DKT or CTG premier? BHK or EAG?

Anonymous said...

What's up with the U16s? Looks like PSA and SCV are on a crash course for the lone premier spot. Do BLM or CDA have a shot?

Anonymous said...

CDA has been knocking on the door for a couple of years. I don't think either CDA or BLM have the size or depth of talent to take them to the next level. I think PSA will take the Premier spot. SCV is very good and well coached and will give them a run for their money.

"But why is EDI in the North anyway? Only 7 teams in East and South, 9 in North."

Because the MYSA office is a mess and the district coordinators are volunteers who couldn't care less and they wait until the last minute to put together every league in one afternoon and they aren't willing to accept outside advice.

District allocations have always been a mess and always will be.

Anonymous said...

They were probably put in the North as a favor. The North, like the East is typically softer than the West. MU and Wings both got in to premier in the past few years by playing in the North.

In comparison to the State Cup and State High School threads, people really seem to care about the MYSA Playoffs!

ONLY NEWS HERE INVOLVES NEW PREMIER

AND THATS COVERED IN HAPPENINGS

What is State Cup?

Anonymous said...

Whose still alive for the 13 Boys Premier spots?

Anonymous said...

Saw some older boys teams from the USSF academy program, playnig in group play, semi-final and championship games. Region 2 champs would loose 5-0 to the worst academy team (at 16, 17, 18). Forget about MN premier, MRL and State Cup/Regionals....the best players and teams are with the USSF academy.

Anonymous said...

93 boys ODP team wins Region II Championships...although watered down by USDA, still the 1st boys team in MN to ever win a Regional. Not too bad!

Anonymous said...

no one cares about c1 c2 or c3 teams. focus on the real stuff.

I wonder if Tom Petters was an MTA investor...

Anonymous said...

Is MTA coming apart on the field? For USA Cup Weekend, MTA entered 29 teams, and had only one winner (and 28 whiners, I suspect).

Not too good for a club that promotes and prices itself as a regional powerhouse.

Anonymous said...

12:58 You sound like the whiner.

Did you check to see what level they played? What age they played? If they had players away at camps or injured? It's not all about winning even though I am sure they beat "your" team.

And, yes, by "your team" I mean you probably think you are part of your son's team...

Anonymous said...

reading these posts, i thought mta was only about winning.

Anonymous said...

2:34 your ignorance is showing!

Anonymous said...

I hope MTA can become a regional powerhouse. That would be cool for a MN club to become that. That's what MN has been striving for since the 80s and 90s. It's pretty cool that the 93 Boys won the ODP tournament.

Success breeds more success.

Anonymous said...

9:26 - i agree with your sentiments. unfortunately for many others to compete it is easier to try to drag them down to their level than it is to try to build themselves up to MTA's level.

Anonymous said...

Congrats to the 93 boys. They have the potential to be an outstanding national team.

You can bet that DS is doing everything he can to take over as coach of this team. This would be another opportunity one of many he's had over the years to pad his stats.

Anonymous said...

that would be tragic.

Anonymous said...

I wish I had DS to coach one of my teams. It probably could have gotten us over the hump.

9:36, Good point, but you should ignore those people and focus on the positive. Nobody in MN has had enough success to rip on anyone.

Everyone is against each other in MN (MYSA vs. MTA vs. Thunder vs. Community Club vs. ODP etc.) We should all be in this together to become a regional power, just like all 50 states should work together to make the US a international power.

Anonymous said...

BLM and SCV play to a 0-0 tie. Both teams evenly matched.

Anonymous said...

Bloomington is the best soccer team in the state for U16s other then 2 premier teams

Anonymous said...

PSA and SCV were State Cup semifinalists at U16. PSA beat MTA Blue and SCV beat Three Rivers Premier. BLM didn't win a game.

Big big games tonight. Offer your predictions!

13B: MTW/DKT. Winner advances. MUS/MTE. MUS needs a 3-0 win to advance.
14B: SCV/PSA. PSA advances with a goal. Thunder PLUS/MTW. PLUS advances with a tie.
16B: PSA/LKV. PSA needs a goal to advance. SCV/NSS. SCV needs 9 points to advance.
17B: SCV/GGM. SCV needs a tie or 2 goals to advance. TNK/WDB. TNK needs a tie to advance.

This is a joke right 10:57 et al. You cant really be seriously insinuating that a game was somehow 'manipulated' to produce a supposedly 'favorable' outcome for the puppermasters up in Blaine (now that is funny). If you are serious, then you people are even more pitiful and idiotic than I ever thought possible. Were you watching from the grassy knoll??

If you really are someone involved with the Lakeville club then I feel sorry for them. I am sure that most sensible people would feel that you should take care of business in your own games and EARN the right to play for promotion rather than fretting about 'fixes' in other games.

Dont usually bother posting on the kiddie blogs on here precisely because of cowardly anonymous a-holes like you.

What's up with the Thunder U13 Blue elite team? Rumor is that several players on the team will tryout for Dakota Rev next season.

Anonymous said...

1:37 To answer your question, the same thing that is wrong with every team, it's not a good fit for the DD or DS. It's not rocket science that Elite teams will have changes, in fact it's not rocket science that poor teams will have changes.

Do you think some kids need to look for a back-up plan ...

Lot's of "RUMORS", not much verification, ever. Nice try though.

Anonymous said...

I heard lots of MTA kids are going back "home" ... the grass ain't greener.

Anonymous said...

True, but perhaps less weedy

Anonymous said...

Same rumors every year come tryout season...then we see the same results at State Cup the following year...yawn.

Anonymous said...

2:46 I heard lots of non-MTA kids are going to MTA tryouts. What's new?

Anonymous said...

Yep, same results except for the cheating episode.

Anonymous said...

as has been noted many times on this and other threads, rarely do the top 6-9 core players ever leave the state's top 1-2 teams (especially on the girls side). the bottom half of the roster might evolve a bit from year to year but the top players annually stay the same.

Anonymous said...

Sorry, I added this to the wrong thread earlier.

Anybody know the results of the u15b Lakeville v Blackhawks game last night. Just curious who is heading to the final, and who will get promoted to premier next year.

Please add score if available, as it looks like Blackhawks needed 10 points or 9 points and at least 4 goals scored to tie PSA...

Anonymous said...

Great game in the U16B final tonight - Blm 1 PSA 0.

Anonymous said...

BLM was the out of nowhere team. Now PSA and SCV have to wonder (again) if they'll ever make premier, even though they're both better than half the current slate.

Anonymous said...

someone must be able to figure the new premier spots

Anonymous said...

MTA tryout results posted on their website.
The MTA Blue boys teams added a lot of talent at U14 and U15 as some of the top players from MTW moved onto the blue teams.
They were State Cup champs already and they just got a lot better.

Anonymous said...

good additions but not enough to really challenge regionally. It's sad there are several very talented players from other clubs did not come out. If they did, perhaps the teams will be able to make a run down at region.

Has anyone heard which 2009 Boys C1 team will be promoted to Premier league for 2010?

Has anyone heard which U14 2009 Boys C1 team will be promoted to Premier league for 2010?

The Minnesota Thunder Academy West team will be promoted to U15 Premier for 2010 league.

Anyone get the MYSA state tournament survey? Thoughts on the format/locations?

Anonymous said...

IMO State Tournament was not as entertaining due to multiple locations, i.e. unable to see older teams while waiting for your child's team to warm up, or stay after and watch.

Referee's were also spread to thin. Most of the referees were at a location near their homes, so the best/most experienced were not always assigned to the important games.

MYSA and NSA both need to grow up and find a way to deal with each other.

Anonymous said...

1:41, that will happen when pigs fly. Too much stupidity and arrogance on both sides. NSC needs to stop sucking the state's t*t and MYSA needs an extreme makeover.

Anonymous said...

MTA sucks (in case anyone is still reading this thread)

MYSA Elections

Please start a discussion thread on the MYSA elections. There are some names running for the office and there need to be more dialogue about these folks. The next few years will be challenging if these people win the offices.
