Where is there a good list of which teams are in each Section?

Anonymous said...

EP
Edina
Bl. Jefferson
Minnetonka
Prior Lake

That's the only section worth a darn. Probably more competitive than the State Tournament. (I have no connection to that section)

Anonymous said...

anon 10:39am : why assume that it was a coach bragging about their team or (son) team? You got to be a parent with no class to make that assumption. You posted anon and expect the world to believe you?

Anonymous said...

Most games rained out tonight... bummer

Anonymous said...

Not assuming anything.

Anonymous said...

Osseo 8, Andover 2

Anonymous said...

Is Chaska good enough to be mentioned in that category having already beaten Prior Lake Edina and all the other teams and not having any terrible losses

Anonymous said...

Chaska success against non conf teams confirms Lake is best conference this year by far.

Anonymous said...

Lake Conf is regularly the best conf

Minnetonka is 0-2 against Lake teams and Prior Lake just got shutout by Kennedy.

Can someone give a game recap for CDH vs Woodbury?

i believe that burnsville and ep could be a good game. not saying that it's a game to watch but it will be a good game.

Me XMan said...

I'm afraid that EP will run over Burnsville.

Me XMan said...

Mpls SW playing crappy teams and beat Anoka 1-0 get ranked. I would vote for Hopkins before Mpls SW.

Anonymous said...

Why would "a good game" not be "a game to watch?"

I personally prefer watching "good games" rather than a game that is bad.

Anonymous said...

The Osseo team is very good in attack, lots of speed and skill on attack joined by the mids makes them very hard to stop. But weakness will be head coach with no experience and defenders central to left backs are poor.

Anonymous said...

Here's Osseo coaching staff
http://osseosoccer.com/mens/staff.php

Head coach has no experience.

Anonymous said...

maybe a head coach with no experience who is just letting them play might be their secret weapon against all the "over-coached" team. the funny thing is that Osseo actually plays a more "sophisticated" style of play versus the more common and preferred "boot and scoot" style. so is it the coach who makes the players or is it sometimes the players who make the coach? would WH at EP, DS at BJ, or any of the other more experienced coaches being have the same success or would they have implemented their "style" (whatever it might be). i've seen coaches try to fit round pegs into square holes (i'm not saying any of the better coaches would) but with high school soccer it's more about the players/talent than the style or in many cases the head coaches ability.

At any level, "it's more about the players/talent than the style." Osseo probably plays a "more sophisticated" style because they have some skilled players who can put the ball on the ground a play a little. If the coach had significant impact, the same team would win every year. It always comes down to the players. Players make the coach and players win championships.

Some coaches motivate. Some coaches are smarter and better than others. But at the end of the whole song and dance, in terms of winning, a coach is only as good as his/her players/talent.

Anonymous said...

you mean sir alex, coach wenger and even yourself are not the best coaches???

Me XMan said...

If you leave it up to the players then you'll have one heck of a chaos in team organization and strategy. How can any team win?

For good examples in how coaching and organization win at the end, take a look at more Lake and Classic Lake teams. They don't have many Maradonna's but they've been very successful year in and year out. Why?

Anonymous said...

Well, I'm the second coming, but those other guys...they just have better talent. And they don't even "develop" most of their talent. They only scrape it away from the likes of West Ham, Villa, Lakeville, PSV, Richfield, etc. They aren't coaches. Wenger should coach where he belongs, for Bangu, with all those other "talent thieves."

- Sarcastic Jose

Anonymous said...

How many Players of the Year have come from the Lake or Classic Lake? Many.

I would take an uncoached, disorganized, out-of-position All-Metro team without a goalie over a Guus Hiddink coached JV team any day of the week.

Anonymous said...

2:55 - the reason why is that although they do not have many Maradonna's (although 3:05 does pose a solid question) what they do have is greater overall depth and quality than many other conferences. The development these players received in their respective youth programs at the early years and then the soccer clubs (MTA, Wings, BHWKS, etc...) as they get older gives those high schools a decided advantage. I also do not think that 1:24 is suggesting that the coach is reading a newspaper during practice, but rather he's adapted Osseo's style of play to the talent that he has. Although he may not have any experience, that is actually very good coaching.

Anonymous said...

Osseo's coach, if not a "good" soccer coach, may be a great manager of people. Perhaps he realizes that he has a talented forward who knows more about scoring goals than himself and he allows that talented forward to go out and score many goals against unequal opposition. Sounds to me like he has some skilled players, he puts them in some good positions, and they play a little football rather than kickball.

Anonymous said...

ep will not "run" down burnsville. EP tied kennedy? and jefferson beat them? burnsville beat kennedy tied jerfferson? so i say it will be a good game. ep may have more possesion and play better but its not going to be a 5-0 or 3-0 win i think 1-0 or 2-1 game.

Anonymous said...

HS game predictions are so dumb. After spending a day in class and doing who knows what else during the day, coupled with some crazy HS coaching, you never know what kind of team will show up to play.

I think the Burnsville-EP game will be 7-1, or 1-1, or 4-5, but it won't be 3-1.

Mr. Soccer is not the best player in State...pfleese. First, it comes from teams that advance furthest in State tournament. Second, who the coach put up to run for Mr. Soccer. Third, what the coaches think and vote for the player. Better Coaching and better organization are the core of better teams.

Me XMan said...

Game recap for Eagan vs Bloomington Jefferson would be great.

Anonymous said...

For the Mr. Soccer list, while maybe not always the THE BEST player, each of those players was certainly top 5 in their class (except for maybe 1 strange year).

Star individuals and serviceable roll players are the core of better teams. Coaching is secondary. The season is too short for coaching to have a greater impact than the quality of the talent.

Anonymous said...

Blomington Jefferson is a large and physical team who ave very talented in tight spaces. Some very good ball handlers. Saw the game last night because of the weather reschedule. Eagan played well in the open field and controlled play. Reminded me of Wayzata. Final 2-1 for Eagan.

Early predition - EP to win State.

Me XMan said...

How did Eagan score those 2 goals? Breakaway?

Me XMan said...

Within 5 years span, Wayzata has 3 players as Mr. Soccer...strange or got power like Mr. Bush...

Anonymous said...

me xman goals we're scored on throw ins. Not a surprise as narrow as the field is. B.J. scored on a throw in as well.

Anonymous said...

Wayzata does well because they have great participation in youth soccer, thus exposing all kinds of kids with resources to good soccer stuff. Are you going to tell me that Wager has amazing skills? He may be a nice guy, but has little idea what is actually going on.

They get Mr. Soccer because they have a few very good players with a supporting cast; as stated earlier, your team needs to do well to get Mr. Soccer. They also get foreign students and open-enrollees that can actually play. For example, the two foreigners last year...

Anonymous said...

7:59pm I'm not sure if anyone knows what the Mr. Soccer formula really is. It all comes down to stats and a lot of lobbying. If a coach is good at that and willing to put fourth the effort, that player will be on the radar.

Anonymous said...

Eagan controlled play the first half with BJ rarely getting past mid-field. Jefferson marked Schlitter during first half. Jefferson had opportunities in second half and was much more aggressive. Had some opportunities but couldn't finish. Eagan substantially improved since I watched them early in season.

Me XMan said...

Looking like Eagan will make Top 10 next week...
They've got easier schedule than Jefferson.
Eagan games: Burnsville and Lakeville South.
Jefferson: Rosemount and Apple Valley.

Anonymous said...

Amazing Eagan hasn't been ranked before. They have won 10 of 12 games with only losses to number 1 and 2 ranked teams. I'm convinced coaches don't even look at schedules when voting. How could Suburban East teams be rated ahead of them when schedules are compared?

MG 1 Anoka 1 in OT. Anoka scored with under a minute left from a huge throw

Anonymous said...

Put Eagan's Schlittler on the very short list for Mr. Soccer. Lots of good players this year. Few outstanding.

Anonymous said...

8:40 - You are exactly right! The Minneapolis schools are not competitive with the other metro schools. Yet with some creative marketing sometimes get Mr. Soccer candidates with the goals you can raack up against a 0-17 team. So the top ten list gets to be the best team in each sectional area. This does not represent the ten best in the state.

Anonymous said...

It is amazing how much talent is in the Lake conference. Three teams in state top ten all year!

Anonymous said...

Those Wayzata players were good, deserving players of the award and they played on very good Wayzata teams. No one was more deserving that CM last year.

It's really too bad that Mpls South and others are putting up 18 goals on North. Can't they get to 5 goals and play keep-away the rest of the game? Why are they padding their stats? Why are they disrespecting their opponent? Why don't they practice good habits and possess the ball with two touches a little bit? If I was to play against Mpls South...

3:20 - Osseo's head coach doesn't run the team, his assistant does...

Anonymous said...

9:26 - whoever is in charge at Osseo they seem to have found something that is currently working. Based on your comment, if the team does not go as far as many think they can, will the head coach get blamed or the assistant who is running the team...?

Anonymous said...

The Wayzata players were good. But you need the supporting cast to win it. Other players don't win because they don't have the team or their coach is an idiot.

A lot of kids think that the coaches all sit down and pick all-state or something. Nope. It's the section coaches who decide at the section seed meeting. Can be very political. What a joke. I should know.

Me XMan said...

I assume former Wayzata coach knew how to pull the string...three players in 5 years is pretty good.

Anonymous said...

The winners from '99 & '01 didn't have supporting casts, but they deserved to win. The winner in '00 didn't have a supporting cast.

If the best player wins it this year, RG wins it, easy. And anyone who knows anything knows it. WB will win it because he's the best player on a good team with a lot of goals. Both players are deserving.

A coach didn't find anything that is working at Osseo. It's a good player scoring a lot of goals and some other good players holding down the fort.

JM

Me XMan said...

I think y'all missing the point about coaching impacting the team. You need to watch the practices rather than games to truly see how coaches and organization impacting the players and games.

It boils down to that you need both sides of work in making a good team. Good players and good coaches. That's about it.

me xman totally agree with the need to watch the practice sessions, and prep for a game. To often an evaluation of the coaching staff is based on the games. Any opinion on Mr. Soccer and your top five front runners?

Anonymous said...

9;34am...Yeh the assistant get's the credit when their winning... and the head coach gets the credit when losing (hmm). Hidden agenda, it's not often you see their name (assistant) in the paper when there losing. Assistant coach with loyalty issues??? In business I think they call that undermining.

Anonymous said...

Most coaching takes place in practice sessions, but how often is that training translated into the games by these HS players? If these coaches were running great practice sessions and if the players were implementing that into games, we'd be seeing some really pretty football.

I think there are probably 2 or 3 teams in any given season that play an appealing brand of football. Why did Anoka win it last year? Coaching? Valley, Wayzata, Edina, they've all relied on players. Again, I'll take 11 uncoached All-Metro players over 11 Hiddink-coached scrubs any day of the week.

Me XMan said...

It's not uncommon to have assistants running the technicals and tacticals. One good exmaple come to mind is Wayzata. Wagner had ODP coaches helping him out.

Anonymous said...

Me X Man - you must work for the Star Trib and only look at West suburbs.

Me XMan said...

I don't work for Strib and you're right I'm an ignorant of the east side. I've got to get butt going there.

Anonymous said...

me xman, respectable list no doubt and obviously have kept up on your homework. Keep an eye on Ryan Schlittler as well. FYI- Scored his 50th high school career goal last night against Jefferson...worth mentioning. You appear to have the pulse a majority of the time. If you haven't had exposure to this kid yet, try to make an effort to check him out, you won't be dissappointed.

Anonymous said...

It's all about club ball when you break it down. Wayzata has at least 5 good club teams in their area. A Standout in Red Wing will never get noticed because the team will be under the radar.

Anonymous said...

ME XMAN

You need to get out and see more Lake Conference games. The players you mention are all solid, but missing guys like Schlittler, you are falling for the Star Trib/West Suburban Hype.

Just my opinion - A Wings Parent.

Anonymous said...

1:26pm not sure if your completely accurate on me xman. Comes up with a lot of credible stuff. Why so interested in the Lake as Wings parent? Dog in the race???

Anonymous said...

Jefferson would be a much better team if the coach just let them play their game. They are better than their record.

Anonymous said...

2:07pm What is their game? They we're miserable last year. New coach, now getting results. Don't know of many teams who had a winning record without a coach. I think you need to get out of the chair and pick up a whistle.

Anonymous said...

And what would "their game" be? Is it the same game that gave them so much success the previous couple years with a different coach? Or is it the same game that went to the dome 3 out of 5 years?

Anonymous said...

2:20pm...well done with the homework.

Anonymous said...

Don't rip Mpls. players just because they have to play North. South and Southwest have produced some great players. The Gibbons brothers were an awesome force for South. It's too bad those teams don't get to play tougher competition regularly; it can be tough to play Henry or North followed by Apple Valley or Wayzata...

And North doesn't even try. It's pathetic.

And yes, I am a Surburban dude.

I think most important in Mr. Soccer is your stats, wins, previous year publicity, and how well the club scene loves you.

Anonymous said...

More pathetic than not trying is scoring 18 goals in an 80 minute game. Pass the ball around a bit. Gibbons boys were good.

Maybe if they didn't run up the score so much and if they put quality football on display rather than scoring every 4 minutes, their Mpls opposition would be slightly more encouraged for future years. The ripple effect of bad football goes on, and on, and on...

No homework. Some people just know. Some people don't.

Anonymous said...

Mr. Soccer probably should come down to stats and wins. That's what good players do. They win and they put up good numbers? For a tie-breaker, previous success and club success seem like good categories.

This is why WB should have it locked up pretty soon.

Anonymous said...

I don't fault the players in one sided romps. I fault the coaches who keep their star players in the game when it's out of hand.
Minneapolis SW has done that for the past few years.

Anonymous said...

me x man,is your son a senior at Osseo?

Anonymous said...

Neither Gibbons or Monasterios teams made it to the state finals the years they won Mr. Soccer. Monasterio did not ever have good stats in HS and he won it. He deserved to win it because he was the best player. Gibbons stats were good and he was also the best player that year. Those who rip his stats should realize that he was a midfielder who racked up assists while playing only 20minutes in those blow out games. He and his brother used to even sit those games out occasionally. Yes, I used to help coach the Gibbons and trained them both in ODP.

For the most part the coaches get it right when they vote for Mr. Soccer. You can certainly argue that other players were also deserving and they probably were. The candidates listed above and are all good players. I think the voting will be close this year.

For all you RG fans, take a reality break. He has done 0000 this year and has at least one red card for trying to take a player out and when the ref carded him his response was to tell the ref that he could do whatever he wants. I have watched him play numorous times this year he looks disinterested out of shape and lazy. There are a half dozen players that I have seen in his conference alone that are playing much better than the great RG.

WB will have a good chance to win Mr Soccer. To win Mr Soccer you have to be the player of the year from your conf. I was able to make it to the Eagan/Burnsville game this evening. First of all, Burnsville clearly outplayed Eagan for the first 30 minutes and had many opportunities to score but just didn't. Eagan scored its first goal with 10 minutes left in the first half. After that, it was all Eagan. Also, Ryan Schlittler was very impressive. He is patient and allows the game to come to him. When he does get an advantage, he quickly executes. He scored 2 goals and had 2 assists while hardly breaking a sweat. I have seen about a dozen different Metro teams this year and he is easily the best player I've seen

St. Louis Park 0-3 Totino-Grace (Final: St. Louis Park 3-2 Totino-Grace) No

A few thoughts
o Surprised to see Edina lost again. That's three straight. Spencer Duhaime is one fun kid.
o EP tied Lakeville South? How? EP is better than that. Taking a breather?
o St.Louis Park is proving their ranking. Paul Yonga you've got to do better. Jerry must be going nuts watching.
o CDH is letting me down dropping to Woodbury and Stillwater. Top 10 is too much to handle I guess.
o Mpls SW continues to beat on easy teams.

EP has been overrated all year. I have seen these guys play for a couple years and they would get obliterated by the EP team from last year. They have little creativity on top, decent mids and defenders and inexperience in goal. Not the recipe of a state championship.

EP parent.

Ryan MacArthur was the leading goal scorer I believe for the Bangu U17 team last summer that Rodrigo and Dula and Spencer Duhaime plays on. And he normally does not play striker.

Mpls soccer guy said...

Wayzata over Edina shouldn't be a surprise, all the Classic Lake teams are beating up on each other. Although they aren't as good as in previous years, don't be surprised if Wayzata makes it out of their section. They are big, fast and work extremely hard -- the prototypical HS team.

Mpls South and Southwest are in a tough spot having to play city strugglers like North, which probably couldn't compete at the JV level. Refs have even been shortening the games to 60 minutes, so the top players probably only play 30 minutes or so. They would easily be better off practicing than playing in these games, and the conference mandates that they have to play teams like North, Henry and Edison twice each season, which isn't any good for either side.

Because of the soft conference schedule, teams like South load up the non-conference slate -- Osseo, Wayzata, Armstrong, Jefferson and Benilde (No. 5 in Class A) -- and also play Southwest twice. It's tough to stay sharp when you play Edison one day and No. 7 Southwest the next.

Anonymous said...

I've been watching Dula and he's been disappointing.

Anonymous said...

As for Mr. Soccer - The short list is usually right on, but the final selection is not always on the mark. IE Last year Montestario was a outstanding choice, the year before, Gibbons was not. Every coach will tell you it's political.

Very tough for coaches to see in person the players they are voting for.

Mpls soccer guy said...

Dula had a real coach with Bangu, Greg Holker. I don't know about the South guy, David Dietl, but he's no Carl Craig.

Anonymous said...

I would like to see how Ryan MacArthur score against Coon Rapids tomorrow. CR will hand them a beating.

Anonymous said...

Don't forget Jake Szymanski - St. Thomas for Mr. Soccer in A. He is teams leading goal scorer and a beast in the middle. Unlike other A players, he doesnt get a chance to score 5 or more goals in blowout games. His coach is classy enough to sit him for large stretches after they have comfortable leads. I wonder how may other top players are limited to 2 to 3 goals in blowouts?

Anonymous said...

For an 18-0 game in 60 minutes, you can blame everyone involved, coaches and players. It's as simple as this: no more scoring, pass the ball around, play one-touch keep-away. Both the coaches and players should know this. 18-0 in soccer is like 51-0 in baseball and 226-0 in football. If I got a chance to play against South...

"Me-x
Are you Osseo asst?"

Someone asked this earlier and I had the same thing in the back of my head...

No reply to it makes me think bullseye.

Anonymous said...

"Real Coach."...what does that mean?
"Sit players to keep the score down."...why not just pass the ball around? Maybe these teams aren't prepared to play in playoffs (as was mentioned) because their top players are sitting on the bench.
"Wait for the game to come to him."...should great players at the HS level wait for the game?

If Messi or Cristiano waited for the game to come to them, they'd be called lazy and non-existent, probably by you.

I'm sure Dula's supporting cast has nothing to do with his play. It has everything to do with the coach, as though the coach is on the field.

This blog is filled with idiots.

Questions for jose mourinho. What's game plan to beat AV EP and Osseo.
Tell me "The One",

Mpls soccer guy said...

How many goals is too many in varsity soccer -- 5-0? 8-0? 12-0? Did anyone complain when Apple Valley beat Hastings 7-0? When a JV call-up gets a chance to play and the score is 6-0, does he have to quit and pretend it's a practice? He could get that with the JV team.

Don't blame the players and coaches, fault the AD's and the conference. North should not be playing a varsity schedule. Push them back to JV and let the other city teams get 2 more games against appropriate competition. Maybe then South could schedule a quality St. Paul team (Central?) and Southwest could play a border battle with Edina.

Anonymous said...

Coon Rapids SHOULD beat Zimmerman. A lot more c1 and premier players.

Anonymous said...

Why CR has to play Zimmerman for non-conf game? What's the point?

Anonymous said...

I would not want someone to let up on my team in a game. That is the best training for a defense that allows too many goals.

Anonymous said...

6 goals is too many. 18 goals is idiotic.

Mpls Guy's idea to have North play JV is a great idea. But it is what it is. South has to play North. No reason to pile on 18 goals. That's the fault of the players and coach.

"Quit and pretend it's practice." What does that mean? Does that mean we don't try during practices? Can't we just possess the ball and not pump the ball down the field and into the net every 3 minutes?

I agree with Jose, "The Chosen One."

Mpls soccer guy said...

North has lost every game by 8-0 or worse, and they have not scored a single goal. By the reasoning of 10:50, who thinks that 6 goals are too many, then the players and coaches of ALL those teams are at fault. Is that possible?

Sadly, the absurd numbers being posted are what is required to force a change. If teams held it to 4-0 or 5-0, then clueless administrators wouldn't think that anything needed to be done.

Of course players try at practice, but that assumes some reasonable balance of competition. This is truly like passing around cones, which will hold a varsity player's interest for about 1 minute, let alone 60.

Anonymous said...

Winning 10-0 and clearing your bench early so those team members who rarely get to play is one thing. Winning 9-0 and your stud scores 5 or 6 goals is low class.

Anonymous said...

I bet teams like Wayzata and Jefferson, who play against top 20 teams all year, would like to play a North every once in a while.

Sounds like North shouldn't have a team. Why are those kids playing anyways? To burn on suspensions before basketball begins?

Anonymous said...

Holker...L.O.L.

Mpls soccer guy said...

North deserves to have a team, they just need to find the right level, which is probably JV. A couple of weeks ago, they played games on 3 consecutive days and lost 47-0, but the players were laughing, joking and hustling the whole way. Their attitude has been unbelievable, truly a credit to the game. The administrators need to wake up and give these guys a fair chance to play the sport they clearly love.

Anonymous said...

I was wondering about X-Man and the Osseo connection too. Especially when he said Lucas Hoang (his dad is asst.) has a shot at Mr. Soccer. (Good player, but Mr. soccer? You gotta be kidding me.)

Anonymous said...

They need to move South and Southwest out of Minneapolis conference and out them with Lake conference.

Anonymous said...

"Lauging, joking, hustling, sport they clearly love."

Sounds like a Mr. Rogers episode. Yet they are no better than a "set of dribbling cones."

I'm very confused. Sounds like the kids are laughing at the system for letting them burn off their suspensions playing a sport they clearly stink at.

Anonymous said...

What's the point in "competing" when you know you will get beat bad. The Minneapolis conference needs a bailout package.

Mpls soccer guy said...

Believe me, the North kids are not basketball players. But if they didn't love soccer, why would they keep showing up, only to get trounced?

Every kid should be encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities, even if they're not very good. Kids that stay active and engaged are generally healthier and better students, and they tend to get into trouble less often. With all of the major problems in the world -- war, terrorism, financial crises -- we need a lot more people like that.

Anonymous said...

I'm trying to figure out why if Hoang is running the Osseo team, why he didn't apply and get the Head Coach job to begin with? Wait a minute....isn't Psyco Mom's kid on that team?

Anonymous said...

mpls soccer guy I agree with you and if they take south and southwest out, the rest of teams are somewhat competitive. Let the kids play.

Anonymous said...

I'm not even sure what's going on here. Are you claiming that Carl Hoang is X-Man? That might help explain his adulation of Osseo and scorn for MG. And the love for WB and Carl jr... I don't think he is, but who really cares. On a separate note, Osseo and CR are the teams to beat in that conference. Osseo #1 seed in section. Who is the #1 seed in Section 5? Edina? Southwest? (!) AV in Theirs? I thought Cretin was having good results too, but now they quit scoring... Is Woodbury back in that mix?

What teams will make it from outstate/near outstate will make it? Eagan I suppose, as they play Rochester... St. Cloud?

My boy WB for Mr. Soccer

The North coach has no idea what he is doing. He never has. If you are getting beat by these ridiculous scores, focus on defense and trying to keep the ball out of the net. The style they play is as stupid as their coach. If you were to put Danny Storlien at North, they could lower their average loss score down to 5-0...and everyone would be happier. Everyone who know DS knows he would never take on a team like this though...right ;)

yeah you are not going to go very far letting in that many goals but if whitney keeps scoring its not big deal... but one bad game for him ends their season

What section plays what section? 1 v 2, 3 v 4, so on... or what???

Just saw that AV & Jefferson tied

Anonymous said...

Osseo 4, South St. Paul 0
Whitney scored one goal

Apple Valley 1, Jefferson 1 OT
Both header goals from corner kicks.

12:43 you're shortsighted and dumb.
osseo have sims, cardille, neufville, bah, hoang, amoako who can score.

Anonymous said...

Can someone compare top three teams. AV, EP, Osseo? System of play, technicals, tacticals.

Anonymous said...

Jefferson has plenty of talent but the coach is offensively bankrupt. His teams always have problems scoring. Can't imagine why they got him hangin around the Thunder. They can't score either.

Anonymous said...

AV = boot and scoot
Jefferson = boot and scoot
Osseo = too far to drive

Anonymous said...

South 2 S,West 1

Anonymous said...

Coon Rapids - Zimmerman scores?

Anonymous said...

I've seen both AV and Osseo played.
Osseo has more flavor of Premier team than boot and scoot AV. Osseo has more speed than any teams I've seen and very skillful midfielders. WB needs to have 2-3 defenders to contain him. Blaine tried to contained him but he scored two goals with 3 defenders on top of him. Osseo will win State.

Anonymous said...

BTW, if you haven't seen Osseo played I advise you to go and see them and tell me what you think of their game here.

Anonymous said...

Isn't Storlien the best coach out there? Why is he playing boot and scoot game?

Anonymous said...

The best coach out there plays 11 players for 80 minutes?

Anonymous said...

I don't believe Storlien won't put subs in to give his starters some water and breather. He's probably conditioning them to play for section title.

Anonymous said...

Don't know the guy and haven't watched the team before but I'm pretty sure nobody else played but the original 11, even after #24 got a yellow. Just seems strange that they don't have anybody else who can play...
