Regional Draw

The Regional draws are out. Here is a boys list by age group, a relative strength of group and my opinion of the MN team's chance of getting out of their group. Overall a pretty good draw for MN teams with 2 teams that should win their groups and 2 others that have a reasonable chance if they can overachieve in 1 game.

U13 Boys MN United
* Draw is MO, ND and NE
* Average to weak group
* If they get by MO they should coast out of their group although 13s is a tough age group to predict.

U14 Boys Bangu
* Draw is IL, SD and NE
* Strong only because IL is in the group
* IL will keep Bangu from advancing

U15 Boys PSA
* Draw is MRL2 (MI), OS, ON
* Strong group with with all respectable teams
* If PSA is at the top of their game, they will win the group

U16 Boys Bangu
* Draw is MRL2, SD and KS
* Strong group with MRL2 and a good Bangu 16s team
* MRL2 is not identified yet, so I say 50/50 chance to get out of group

U17 Boys Valley United
* Draw is WI, IL and KS
* Very strong group as IL, WI and Valley are all very good.
* Tough to predict wins over IL and WI, but Valley are a talented side.

U18 Boys Bangu
* Draw is ON, IL and KY
* Very strong group even though it contains a jelly-filled KY team
* Can't envision a scenario were Bangu can beat IL. Will probably hope for tie and look to goal differential for a chance.

U19 Boys Eagan
* Draw is IN2, OS and KY
* Weak to average group and a tough age group to predict
* Could go 3-0 or 0-3...no prediction here

Regionals should be interesting...A clarification on the U15 group. Unless they've changed the brackets, PSA is not with SD or KS. RAther, they are with ON, OS. and MRL 2 (Vardar, #2 in Michigan, lost to #2 nationally ranked Wolves 4-1, in their state cup). Should be excellent and tough competition.

Thank you for the correction. Not sure what I was looking at when I looked at the draw for U15 boys.

the U16 mrl 2 team is everest. bangu played them last year in midwest league and got a red card early and were missing some players and lost 0-3 i believe. they had a talented national player in the middle who i believe is not there anymore. bangu 16s have the best chance to get out.

Now, we're playing for more than just our clubs, we're playing to represent our state.

and I still can have my favorite and single them out with a well wish without it being interpreted in the manner it is being done here.

i think all minnesota teams have favorable draws. some could have been better, but the level of play has risen so much in the state that we should no longer think a team is not advancing simply because they drew a usual tough team. the lovely thing about the game of soccer is any team can come out and beat any other team if they put in the effort. from what i saw at the state cup, if a majority of teams can regain their fire, MN could be well represented in the semi's. good luck to all.

7 way-back...has to be record...guessing you met during the fall of the roman empire ;)

Jerry is a great guy and a favorite with some of his players mothers! I know a few of his past antics have ruffled a few feathers, but he has been able to assemble quality teams and teach the game at a high level.

I taught him how to disco

I though you were Scandinavian? Which implies no spicy food or rhythm...disco? I think I would pay to see Tomass and Jerry disco dance.

The 15s, 16s and 18s will all win their groups.

Bangu Boys U16 promoted to Premier in MRL last weekend . They performed way better than either Dakota Gold or KCFC alliance. (in their group).
They also beat Pacesetter Premier and Fort Wayne Fever.
A very good defensive team that can hang with anybody. I see them making it out of their group.

Fort Wayne - ugly town that should be defensive
