I still don't understand with what is wrong with being the best, good for MTA, and if it comes across as cocky or a big ego, good for them, another word confidence!!! Its okay to want to win the Natl Championship too.

4:35,
I don't think anyone is implying that SSM's performance at State Cup was a program killer.
It's just obvious that other clubs in the state are very competitive with SSM despite pulling players froma single metro area unlike SSM who pulls players nationally and internationally.
Why pay to send your kid to a boarding school when they can play at same level in several of the clubs in Minnesota?

LET THE CRYING BEGIN !! SSM WINS BOYS u16, 17, 18 and 19 !!!
29/3/09 1:50 AM
Everyone here likes to talk about MTA Kool aid drinking parents, but SSM has drinking something quite a bit stronger than kool aid. See pre State Cup comments below:

It looks like SSM will once again represent Minnesota well at the U18 regional and national tournaments.

I expect SSM to blowout the U18 competition. How did SSM tie MTA on 2/7/09

U18- SSM in a walkover vs. MTA, SSM has to play Woodbury and that probably is not worth watching

Mama Mia said –
U16: MTA over BHK
U17: SSM over SCV
U18: SSM over MTA blowout
U19: VLY over WBL

Region Champs: MTA U15
Region Champs: SSM U18
National Champs: SSM U18

We go from that to. . . . . AS FAR AS THE U17, U18 SSM BOYS, SOMETIMES GAMES TURN OUT THAT WAY . . . .

To ANON 11:01/SSM Parent you lost. You were beaten! The U17’s did not even make it out of their pool. You may want to carry on about how the U18 should have won, until you realize that four out of the past five years that team has beaten their competitors in shootouts at State Cup. You are now in the excellent company of CDA & EDP but you paid about 30K more for the privilege. Yeah, Yeah you got a scholorship/loan whatever and it didn't cost you 30K. You lost and if you based your decision to send your child to a private boarding school on SSM Soccer program you just made a very poor investment.

If people think that SSM parents are paying for a title, then they are idiots indeed. You know who you are.

Anonymous said...

SSM is no longer much of a factor anymore in Minnesota soccer.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, only 40% of the teams they entered into state cup are going to regionals. That compares to 24% for MTA.

Not much of a factor when any team entered has close to a 50% chance of getting to regionals.

2:25, you probably should have prefaced your comment with an "I wish", that way you would look quite so incapable or rational thought. It's OK though, we are all going through a learning curve here.

Anonymous said...

LOL 3:03 as one team is going as a wild card (after soundly losing in the U18 title game in a bracket where there was only 7 teams to begin with). So based on your analysis, NMT was the top club last year as their U18 team went as the wild card and they were 100%. I commend your statistical creativity!

New topic...next year:

u14b premier will be:
MTA 96 Blue
MTN 97 Blue
MTA 96 White
MTW 96 Navy
Mta 97 Blue
MUS Moondogs

U14G premier will be:
MTE 97 Blue
MTN 96 White
MTA 96 blue
Edina
CTG
Dakota

So 8 out of 12 premier teams at U14 will be MTA. State Champ will be MTA...WOW!!!

Anonymous said...

Accept that the MUS Moondogs will not be a runner up in their group.

Anonymous said...

Has anyone decided what the scores of those games will be yet? Who gets to win?

Anonymous said...

3:28 is just trying to stir things up...don't be foolish and take the bait.

Anonymous said...

With all those teams, they'll need a mathmetician to figure out who needs to win, and by how much.

Anonymous said...

MUS Moondogs - 2nd in their league. It's already set. MTW has no loss and beat Moondogs already. 2 games to to playing a U12 MTA team and a 5th place CMS team. Done. Moondogs will have to try to get premier through summer state.

Anonymous said...

This is 3:28. Not trying to start anything. Just seeing the lay of the land for Boys soccer in the next couple of years. Looks like it's going to be the same for U13 the next year which will then be the same for U14 premier the following year. I'm not an MTA parent but am considering it now.

Anonymous said...

Hey 8:07 are you talking about MTA or MU when you assert that cheating will occur? See U15B MRL and U15B Premier...

Anonymous said...

That would kind of take the fun out of the premier league if MTA had 5 of the 6 teams in the league.
Would that be allowed?

Anonymous said...

Yikes...I say let MTA pull out of premier league and play their own little league amongst themselves!!!

Anonymous said...

This will not happen. MTA knows that such a schedule would only highlight the inequities between the top team and the cash cows.

Expect the top teams to do MRL only, the white teams to do MRL and Premier, and the bottom feeders to do premier only.

Anonymous said...

CTG will not make it on the girls side, it will be U12 Blue from the east 13 white from the north and two from the south and west.

Anonymous said...

Maybe the kids who play for MTA aren't scared of competition They can improve and move up. If your kid is scared of competition tell them to play for their cc.

Anonymous said...

so, with regionals starting tomorrow, does that mean all the MTA goobs are gone from this board?

Anonymous said...

Are you kidding? only about 20% of the MTA teams are travelling to SD this weekend. The other 80% will be here, making themselves heard.

Anonymous said...

LOL at 215 and 219 (same person). The childish name calling is especially amusing. And no I am not from MTA.

Anonymous said...

Quick, some d-bag from Tonka, Wayzata or Apple Valley propose a rule that only allows 1 team per club in MN pre-smear! Then SCV can make their own rules to allow 2 of their teams to form at this level.

Anonymous said...

Next I expect a post explaining how 9:44 is not a MTA person, but just pretending to be to make it seem "as if" MTA people are dufuses.

Anonymous said...

A sure sign someone is from MTA: "And no I am not from MTA."

Not sure was 9:44 means with the SCV comment, unless he's the WBL loser.

Anonymous said...

It's doofus.

Anonymous said...

737 I sometimes post that I am not from MTA, or other clubs for that matter. The reason? Because I am not!

Anonymous said...

...which, by 737's logic, means you are.

Anonymous said...

so many paranoid folks out there....

Anonymous said...

Everyone just remember that if you say something in any way complimentary of MTA that you are an MTA-lover, MA-lover, goober, kool-aid drinker, etc....

Everyone also just remember that if you say something derogatory about MTA that you are a "hater"....

Since this seems to be the mindset (or aptitude level) of most of the bloggers on this site, I thought it would be a good idea to over the ground rules one more time.

Anonymous said...

828, Thanks for the clarification!!

Anonymous said...

MTA is just a joke they real teams are those out the clubs who didn't take over the state and who are still standing strong.

Anonymous said...

A lot of clubs are believing, "If you can't join 'em, beat 'em."

Anonymous said...

So, who's the hot club right now?

Anonymous said...

MTA Boys are hot right now.
They won State Cup at U13, U14, U15 and U18.
They have the best team by far at U12.

Anonymous said...

I have seen the u12b's that play u13. Other than lack of size, this group is amazing. They play a style that is beautiful at times.

I am not a parent of this team. But I do see MN soccer, on average, 6 days a week.

No matter who you are, and what club you love or hate, if you truly love the game, you will notice that this group could be very special if they continue to grow, improve, and stay with the game.

Mr. Yueill is also a class act, along with Ms. Milar (sp?).

Coaches of younger players, go see this group, watch them train, and try to run a few sessions like they do, try to challenge your players constantly but with the respect these two coaches do. You may see some very positive results.

I think that MTA U12 team is the one playing at their own age in the US Club Soccer Regionals down in Indianapolis.
They're in the championship match later today.

Anonymous said...

I hope they don't throw it again.

8:52,
Guess you can't tell the boys from the girls, eh?
That about sums up the intellect of most of the bashers on this blog.

Anonymous said...

MTA is so overrated. I personally watched the older boy MTA teams (U-17-U-18) get destroyed in a Holiday Classic and Inter league play. i watched NLS Ramsey 19 year old boys destroy them two out of the 3 times they played, as they tied the third time. But MTA is hoping to piggy back off their name and gain respect that way, not by winning, which is hard for them to do in the first place. Go ahead parents pay thousands of dollars for your son or daughter to have the MTA on the back of their jersey. I mean it must be fun paying that much money and watching your kid earn a sub .500 record. It would make me proud

Anonymous said...

anon 1:07,
You're talking about their "B" team, right?
I don't think their "A" teams at those ages even bother with MYSA Premier League.

Anonymous said...

No im talking about the U-17 and up. They are rubbish. The parents are extremely rude with name calling and heckling to the opposing team. They are upset that they might get relegated even tho they are the Minnesota Thunder Academy! They dont deserve any respect because of the name, they have to earn it, like the rest of the premier teams.

Written like someone who can't read. I am not a parent of this group, but you would have known that if you had any reading comprehension.

Unlike most of the blogs on this site, I was trying to say something positive about a group, and two coaches-but now I have stooped to your level and begun insulting...

Anonymous said...

hey 9:00 (i.e., idiot), MTA boys and girls were playing U12, idiot. Like I said, I hope they don't throw another one.

Anonymous said...

I'm not an MTA parent, but I really can't stand them.

I'm serious...I'm NOT an MTA parent....really.

Anonymous said...

Who's the idiot?

The post from yesterday at 9:38 states the following: "I have seen the u12b's that play u13. Other than lack of size, this group is amazing. They play a style that is beautiful at times."

Please note that it indicates "u12b's"...that would indicate boys if you were even semi-literate.

That's all we need is another drooling semi-literate loser calling others on this blog "idiots".

You aren't Shekki by any chance, are you?

Good morning, 7:05 (aka, idiot). I'll type really slow so I don't lose you.

No, I'm not Shekki, though I know his mother.
